  • Tulasi is a small tree. Krishna doesn't except offerings without Tulasi leaves. If Her leaves are not available, then any type of presence can maintain - dry Tulasi wood, picture of Tulasi, or at least Her name should be called when making offering to Krishna.

If one want to plant Tulasi in their home - She should be looked after nicely with love and devotion.

  • I've just read that tulsi seeds (when you want to plant it) can not be sold or bought - it's like human trafficking. Well said, but I do hope it doesn't prevent the plant from growing and that she's not offended.

  • Is the Tulasi plant an herb or a kind of tree? From what I've seen of them, they look like miniature trees to me.

  • I have a really nice Pakistani couple that lives above me and every morning at 4:30am i hear them walking about almost in a rythm. Would anyone know of any type of ritual this may be?

  • why not ask them? Here - Tulasi Devi is worshiped in the form of pant (Holy Basil), her leaves are most dear to Lord Krishna. In every type of Krishna worship Tulasi must be present in some form - leaves, wood, or if that is not possible - her name should be taken.

  • shree Krishna and Tulasi puja

it come ones time in a year. when tulasi know that shree Krishna come to her home. tulasi was trustful and god want to kill her husband. who was so cruel. when tulasi know and tell the Krishna. you broke my bhakit. Then SHREE krishna tell what ever going to happen. tulasi puja will stay forever.

  • this is Puranic story, and it is not very important for Vaishnavas, we worship Tulasi devi because she is most dear to Krishna and she is always on His lotus feet. We want to take shelter of Her and to be blessed with Krishna Bhakti and to become eternal residence of VRINDAVAN - forest of Vrinda Devi (who manifested as Tulasi plant)

  • doesn't look like 4:30am to me :)

  • what 4:30 am should look like to you? - in a room with lights on?

  • well said bhayyia/bhen

  • I Always Love Mayapur Tulasi Aartis!!! This is equally as beautiful as the others!!
