  • best australian shite ever!!!

kylie minogue, this cock juggling thundercunt, can suck my arse.

  • outstanding, by any measure

  • Saw the Oils somewhen in the late 80´s in Hamburg, Germany and still remember how much energy the band had. One of the best concerts I´ve ever seen.

  • @derfaddi seen them in Dublin around '93 and still remember how powerful they were.

  • This was the best band to see live. Saw them 4 times in the heyday. A pleasure and a message?

  • SON LOS MEJORES

  • my all time favorite midnight oil song !!!

  • this is not the fuckingham palace

  • Awesome mIDNIGHT oIL!!!!

  • Always MID OIL !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • One of my favourite OILS songs Brings back good Memories of good times

  • Every time they made the journey to Newcastle we would go and see them, so over 20 years that adds up to alot of times. You ALWAYS left exhausted and wanting more. The greatest live band I have ever seen, just balls to the wall stuff. Amazing energy and passion. Best thing was it was only 5 bucks to get in.

  • I really like this music! This is one of my favourites from the past and is still great, even better, to listen to now.

  • love Rob Hirsts vocals - he pretty much carries this song!

  • love you guys!

  • In my opinion this may be their best song and this is an outstanding performance. I'm glad so many acts of the 70/80s are still doing their thing. Some pull it off a little poorly but everyone's got to make a living, right. But these guys and some others, in many ways, look better/sound better/perform better than they did in their heyday. And that's a real tribute to their skills. Carry on, Midnight Oil.

  • @WaryBuck1

AS much as I agree with your opinion of Midnight Oil, this is not a recent performance. Peter Garrett has been retired for many years. Midnight Oil as you see it here is no more. Their music, however, is immortal.

  • @WaryBuck1 i don't know all their work, but this is my favourite. a good driving song, when turned up to max, but even then you know there is a story to listen to. God I sound old!

  • @WaryBuck1 The band broke up several years ago.

  • M O forever

  • I was fortunate enough to see them live twice.

If anything the Oils are even better live than the studio versions, they play up tempo and Peter does a lot of ad libbing.

  • I think that one of the bench marks of a great band is that they sound the same live as they do recorded. If not better. This is fucking awesome. I'm pissing off my neighbors right now as loud as it's playing. I'm so pissed I never got to see them live.

  • Great song, great band.

  • Granted the 60's are over-thisband puts out political music they passionately believe in-give em a listen!!!

  • BEAT THE GROG AND SAVE YOUR SOUL

  • Classic at 1:09 , he's the man!!! God Bless Midnight Oil!!!

  • Not really a concert going type, but saw them in San Diego back in 1988. Seven concerts later and I can honeslty say this is one of the greatest bands ever! Peter is in the Aussie political machine now and only good can come from that! How can anyone not be moved by this bands music and drive...Thanks Oils!

  • toujours aussi bon à écouter.Good

  • Thanks !

  • super super !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Fuck How Good is this!!! OILS Australia's own...

  • I thought they had split. I traveled from the uk to New york to see them, as I thought it would be the last chance.

  • i'm watching this on the morning of the day I get to see Midnight Oil for the first time since 1985. Sheesh. Hoping they do this song tonight.

  • This is just awesome!

  • this band is great. they know what needs to be done, What have we done?

  • Incredible band!! Politics aside, great guitar players, great band all around! Makes it sound better than living in jersey with OUR aborigines!

  • Thank you to the person who posted this!

  • WOW !

    What a great song !

    Nicely Done !

  • the daddy of intros for me!!!

    bring back the oils!!!

  • Diesel and Dust songs always have that conviction live.

  • the daddy of songs!!!!!

  • ....... excelente..!

  • awesome

  • Thanks for posting! Awesome stuff!

  • A total classic song!!! "White Law could be wrong. Black Law must be STRONG!!" God Bless Midnight Oil!!! Thanks for sharing this song!!!! Carry On!

  • Bones is the best late entry since Keiran Perking scraped into Lane 8 in Barcelona.

  • They're the best live performers of all times!!!

  • Too good....nice performance. What a great song.....go lads

  • LEGENDS........!

I only wish peter garet would realise that man made global warming is a huge lie passed down from the scummy world powers that wanna lower population by creating a crisis

  • I got to see them in my hometown during their farewell tour. Great show!

  • i thought they were done for good. is that an aussie only tour

  • MIDNIGHT OIL ARE THE BEST

  • absolutely brilliany lyrics...stirs the mind, saddens the heart, and engages the soul

  • "Warakurna, camels roam

Fires are warm and dogs are cold

    Not since Lassiter was here

Black mans got a lot to fear"

"Lasseter" is a reference to the the purported discovery of a fabulously rich gold deposit in a remote and desolate corner of central Australia.

  • I don't get this reference. The line "Not since Lassiter was here" seems to indicate that things were better when Lassiter was "there". Shouldn't it be "Ever since Lassiter was here"? You'll have to excuse my ignorance of Australian history.

  • No problem my friend. The Australian Aborigines are basically left alone in the Outback (desert) unless their lands has minerals or oil. Therefore the Aboriginal people live in fear that a prospector such as Lasseter will arrive, find something valuable and get them forcibly removed from their tribal lands. Australia has a long history of this sort of thing, but it has improved greatly in the last decade. Midnight Oil did a lot to get this injustice placed on the political agenda.

  • Exact same story in the States; except we weren't lucky enough to have our own Midnight Oil.

  • No, we get Madonna and Backstreet Boys.

  • Awesome guys f*^#!n awesome

  • you fukin said it boy....fukin awsome!!!!

  • I absolutely love the oils...peter is one of the great frontmen of any band out there!

  • Define 'rock' - and when you have you'll understand this group is the best 'rock' group in the history of 'rock'. They have it all where most others have nearly nothing.

  • From when i first saw the oils when i saw 16 and up to there last gig in 2005 this song does it

  • i think, this is the best rock band live in the world, give a emotional energy in scene, Peter is a master!!! MIDNIGHT OIL , great band!

  • F!@#$n Awesome!!!

  • One of my all time favorite songs!

  • if kevin Rudd has even an ounce of cool in him he will command peter Garret reform the oils for the parliament house christmas party.

  • Yes! :))

Saw this w/ parents 1988. They had Washburns with taped in mics. Migod the sound they made.

  • I couldnt agree more,

what a concert that would be,

they should begin with knifes edge

    Word crimes

    Bitter lies

    Bitter crimes

    Government lies

  • Saw them play this live almost 20 years ago during their "Diesel and Dust" USA tour . . . amazing how they remained just as good in 2000.

BTW, "Diesel and Dust" is an enduring album, one which I highly recommend (2008 reissue with accompanying DVD, apparently).

  • An excellent true song. "Black must be strong"!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Thanks for posting!

  • i love them

  • We need new Midnight Oil music!

  • indeed 1 your comment begs the question of does the group exist for themselves or their fans - these guys obviously went their separate ways - probably tired of playing the same songs over and over BUT perhapsthat is the price one pays for creativity in music today ? what about the Rolling Stones, then ? they have been performing together since 1964 ! at least we have the TUBE to see and hear them anytime we want - but, I get your point and agree 200%

  • Yes!

  • awesome song! first band i ever saw live,18 years ago, well i suppose that would be the fantastic Hunters and Collectors who were support band for the tour!

  • holy shit hes tall!!!!

  • this bands ability to mesh pertinent social issues with rock and roll is outstanding. i miss them

  • love this song..tell the truth all the way...

  • warakurna, great great great song,LONG LIVE TO MIDNIGHT OIL, Return Peter, return!!! we need rock groups like your band.!!!!!

  • hell yeaaahhh , i love this song
