  • AWESOME DUDE !!!! I didnt know much about this song until I heard Del McCoury sing it... I have yet to hear this song played badly. 2 thumbs up for you because that's all the thumbs i have. By the way... where are you from? Im from North Georgia but now live in Kentucky.. the heart of the bluegrass music I love.

  • excellent!

  • Hey man, that's awesome, you sound great, what a cool rendition, thanks!

  • Have listened to all of the other versions on the web, yours is superb! Where might one purchase your tab?

It will be a long time before I reach your level of proficiency but I'm working hard on it.

  • Wow! I just worked this out on the guitar. I'm a beginner claw hammer student but i'll have to tackle this. i like your arrangement muchly. Look up ChristyJefferson for a great female arrangement. Oh and i found another version on banjo hangout.com much to my surprise!

  • Nice.

  • Could you possibley do a tutorial of the del mcoury version

  • great playing and beautifully framed!

  • Just incredible! RT would approve I think.

  • You are a very inventive young man, I have messed round with Vincent Black Lightning on the acoustic for several years but it just never occurred to me to try it on the banjo before! - Unusual tuning that gCGCD. I usually use gCGCE which seems to do the trick too.

Thanks for uploading this, quite inspiring actually. RT would appreciate it too I am quite sure.

  • This is very cool!!! Thanks!

  • Ah, two of my very favourite things: Vincents and clawhammer banjos!!

    Thanks for putting that up.

  • enjoyable rendition of a very difficult number, well done.

  • Wonderful rendition of a wonderful song. Can't wait to try it on my own banjo. Thanks for the inspiration (and the great blogs! Where do you get your time!?)

  • Nice arrangement! As a big Richard Thompson fan (and clawhammer banjo player) I really appreciate it. And I've just discovered your various blogs which could keep me busy for a few weeks! Thanks for all your efforts.

  • Excellent, excellent job. You handle that banjo well.

  • Really well done.

  • fantastic cover...i really love the sepia tint, it sets the mood perfectly

  • had to comment, very good

  • This is great. I saw Richard palying this live last year...never even considered doing it with a banjo...well done.

  • This is a great song for clawhammer!

  • I envy you clawhammer guys. Great singing too.

  • Bravo! How are you tuned?

    Great job...

    Jeff

  • Thanks i'm tuned gCGCD.

  • Thanks. I'm gonna start working on it...consider your arrangement stolen!
