  • I'm personally attracted by Al Pacino, but as I guess everyone agrees with me that both Al and Rob are equally great actors....I want another scene with them in a new movie!!!!!

  • Arguably one of the 10 greatest scenes in movie history ... and the sum total of their conversation is reflected by the looks on their faces in the final three seconds of their talk.

It's altogether Brilliant and Remarkable ...

  • Great actors and great movie.

  • still, he hesitated.

  • What a wonderful year it was...I remember seeing Casino in the fall of 95 and then Heat in Dec! When I saw heat it was a full house with people whispering and munching popcorn but when that special scene between De niro and Pacino came about, SILENCE...man you could hear a pin drop! Everyone seemed to have been hanging on to each word these two Icons were saying to each other!

  • the 10 people who disliked this are obviously terrorist

  • when i saw the thumbnail i thought it was werner herzog. i will believe it is werber herzog.

  • Heat is an amazing movie

  • I remember seeing this film on opening weekend in 1995; not a major crowd in the theater but still a full crowd. After all the action in the film leading up to the scene, the audience reacted normally to any action film. But when this scene came up, there was a dead silence in the crowd, everyone in awe of these two actors sharing a scene together in this conversation. When it ended, there was a 30-second applause. Had never seen it before, and will probably never see it again.

  • LOL!! Such an incredible movie and an incredible scene!!!! De Niro & Pacino are two of the greatist actors ever!!!! The bulid up to this scene was well done. Instead of them fighting, they are having coffie!!! The diolouge was great. They don't do scenes like this anymore!

  • One of my favorites!

    Awsome

  • One of my favorites!

  • the perfect film for the two would have been fight club, De Niro in the Durden role of course. Al has too much hair for a man his age, bad wig job.

  • it's like washington and lincoln sittin down discussing politics

  • it makes me mad i catch on to these movies late as fuck..im the type of dude that if the movie aint on i aint watching it,ive seen parts of heat but didnt know it was heat before watching this..this ranks up to one of the best movies of all time.

  • Mann is a smart cookie

  • Outstanding acting .

  • Not to mention De Niro's women!!! Too much characters!!!!

  • I love Heat!!! One problem: They had too much characters. Didn't need Ashley Judd, the kids, the guy Judd was cheating on, the wife of the dishwashing convict, Natalie Portman, Henry Rollins, and the cops wives'.

  • @TheEntertainmentonly but with all the characters you see how being criminals affected these guys and the toll it took on their familes. would you want a movie with just De Niro,Pacino,Kilmer, and sizemore without a change. I think it would'vr been boring without everyone else.

  • @lbap94 They should've made the secondary characters ,second!! They went too in-depth with the Kilmer character's life, the Dennis Haybert character, and the Pacino character. Natalie, Ashley, her kid, and Haybert women should've never been in the movie.

  • @TheEntertainmentonly I kind of feel they went too extrem with the little girl who slits her wrists but not Ashley Judd character, or the girl who plays Eady or justin. because they try to show how negitive that lifestyle is. but everyone's opinion differs I guess

  • I've already forgotten about Righteous Kill.

I'd much rather just have had HEAT as their only movie together. It was STELLAR.

  • The problem is Pacino is 69 and De niro is 66. There just isn't a lot of good roles for men that age. They also have their past triumphs that they have to live down. They both have egos, contract demands. When your as good as they've been for so long, it's hard to keep up that standard

  • what a great couple of actors. They're both brilliant !!!!!!!

  • brilliant!!!

  • Great scene, very good movie. I think both De Niro and Pacino's have lost it since this movie

  • Pacino has ... De Niro still has one more left in him. my opinion.

  • THE 2 KINGS

  • Two wonderful actors, the best of the best!

  • I will not hesitate. Not for a second.

  • The best is the best and the rest is the rest.

  • the critic has reason : its not such a big scene, they just take a coffe but its very intense because its two big characters

  • Just like Batman and The Joker really.

Except for the fact that both Batman and Joker are psycho's.

  • Ashley Judd is awesome!!!

  • Heat.

  • collateral best mann film

  • not true

  • WHAT?!! This movie it's way better than Collateral, no doubt. Nevertheless Collateral it's a good movie, i agree.

  • The best is The Insider.

  • in my perspective, this scene is considered iconic cus you see icons in it, period.

but the true power of it is beyond the "badassness" of the characters. Mann has the touch to show us the world with a feeling that it has no baundries to it (that's to me the core of his talent) and he manages to show us this 'void' without a depressing conotation to it. one of the grat american filmakers living today, his views have a freshness of freedom to just walk around this big world we walk around

  • i think this scene is little overrated, but its still a good scene and has two great actors in it....

  • I heard the whole scene was unscripted

  • Well, they showed a photo of the script, so there goes that one!

  • The scene was scripted but it was not rehearsed, the dialogues were improvised by both the actors and because of that the scene was written and re written alot of times. It was De Nero's idea of not rehearsing

  • We all saw the clip thank you. No need to tell us what we just saw.

  • 9:00 "There's a flip side to that coin. What if you do got me boxed in & I got to put you down? cuz no matter what you will not get in my way..." That line is CLASSIC!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Alleluya! This is the bible of cinema.

  • like a couple a' regular fellas. one of the best scenes ever...

  • This movie is one of the best ever made and that scene is classic.

  • al pacino the best

  • By the way, I speak english but got lost in some details, please if there is a captioned or subtituled version, let me know.

    Thanks

  • Wao!! este reportaje resuelve muchas discuciones, alguien sabe si hay uno con subtitulos es español?

  • Amazing scene.

    Go down in history.

  • 8:29

    Pacino obvious hair piece.

  • Tom Sizemore is blonde!

  • Lmao this is simple. What is so "brilliant" about it?

  • detail and timing

  • Pure Genius !

  • Its a shame that after this cracking film, Righteous Kill was such an anti climax

  • Righteous Kill was pretty good, for me. Quite forgettable tho, unlike HEAT!

  • i thought righteous kill was hella dull.

  • i don't compare them it's not fair,both are great..

  • de niro has aged better than pacino;

  • Pacino has had more consistent films over the years.

  • I agree Paciono has been more consistent but De Niro was probably better in his prime.

  • I think De Niro beats him by an inch! Robert De Niro is simply brilliant.

  • I agree

  • i agree

  • heat

    some good shit

  • how can u not like this film, its simply brilliant

  • I completely agree with Mr. Wolcott. No way this epic has the magic that it does if these 2 had been buttin' heads scene after scene after scene

  • there is no director on this earth who can reach this level of greatness. An extraordinary writer and director. No one has your style Mann!

  • One of the best scenes of all time in the one of the greatest films of all time, IMO. Personally speaking, this scene is at the top of the pyramid.

  • amazing to hear that they even didn't met each other before they shot the scene. one of the best films in history!!!

  • they didn't meet in the movie before that scene, in real life they are friends, sorry if thats what you meant

  • i can watch this film once a year. One of the first DVD I bought when DVD wasn't that popular. Defo worths every penny.

  • if anybody has a clue where I can find a poster of the coffee shop scene in a large size please let me know.

  • you are wasting my MOTHERFUCKIN TIME!!!

  • Top 10 movies of all time.

  • I don't know why people think its overated?? Heat is a sick ass movie.

  • @RideTehLightnin don't worry about the others ,heat is a fantastic movie showing the real life of the cops that some sick chicks love to have as husbands.and a big score guy who knows what to do to get the big money with no harm, without killing people.i have a dvd and i still watch it and this scene was very terrific.and they are showing respect to each other.

i remember when john when he told bob di nero that al likes him.robert smiled when he heard it.now way we will see a movie like this.

  • @RideTehLightnin Amen!

  • should never have done 'righteous kill'. i doubt they needed the money and actors of that calibre probably can recognize a shitty script when they see one. love 'Heat', by the way.

  • I agree w/u 100%, Righteous Kill could have been a helluva lot better, however, it was good to see the 2 titans back 2gether in the same film, just sad it wasn't better

  • @diefortacos I agree for the most part but i think the still did a great job in rigtheous kill, despite the end product of the movie.

  • Why do they make these ridiculous: you are greater than great videos, only in the States.. You can't take it serious after a few minutes, as a matter of fact it becomes hilarious silly.

  • As an Italian (from Italy, not from America), I have to say that its nice to know that ur proud of ur origins, but braggin about them this way is something I dont like it either.. aint nothing bad about being proud of who u are, thats cool, but such attitudes can be annoying if u stress the whole thing so much (like bragging, I mean). I definitely agree that Pacino and De Niro are two great actors, probably my favorite ones, but not necessarily because their Italian-American, u know..

  • That has to be one of the GREATEST SCENES OF ALL TIME. I love that movie.

  • oh and one more thing fag, I like the gymnast on my page, I'm not one,

ur so fuckin brain dead, ha what a prick!

  • FUCKIN JERKOFF

  • Michael Mann Is One Of The Greatest FilmMakers Of All Time!!!!!...

  • I reside a few blocks away from where DeNiro's Family lived, He's Half Irish/Mom's Side, Half Italian His Dad's side. And wasn't raised in Little Italy, I know this for a Fact! I knew of him way before "Mean St's"

  • where did he grow up? Have you read his book Robert Deniro ; Untouchable ???

Bobby D. is always cool Isaw this movie at the theater three times !11!!1!1!!

  • I don't have to read a book to know where he grew up at, Or some of his private info.

So, You keep on reading books.

And, Who's Negating DeNiro? I wasn't! So, I think you should Hone your reading skills, Since you indicate that you read!

  • damn that film critic Walcott is one sweaty fat FWUCK!!!

  • Heavy overacting in this scene.

  • The Italian seaps out of De Niro in every way, looks, acts and great like all us Italians, the man grew up in Little Italy in Manhattan for CHRISTS SAKE, he doesn't even need to act Italian, it's natural for him haha, he's even said it himself he associates with his Italian side more than anythin else,

  • its great ur proud of ur country

they both italian and hall of fame actors

but ur braggin is actually starting to make me dislike italians.... imagine if every time an american did something great every white person would brag about it the way u are right now

  • Go and FUCK YOURSELF,

Italians are proud people! I don't give two shits if ur startin to dislike Italians, go on and fuckin hate Italians, I don't care if u do or any other Italian wouldn't give a flyin fuck, I really hate people like u, just because a certain race or nationality is proud, we got to tone it down due to "racism" blah blah, and how it makes other people uncomfortable and unwelcomed since there not that race, quite frankly I don't give a fuck what anyone thinks or feels, ITALIA!!

  • Comment removed

  • ur not even italian ur from boston ur probly irish uve probably neva eva been to italy

ive been to italy more then you

U jus fake ass Faggot Gymnast u a disgrace to ur country

  • okay whatever u say playboy, I'm not Italian, I'll let u think what the fuck u want, Yeah I have been to Italy, Sicily to be more detailed, Palermo to be exact, yeah Italians in Italy consider non Italians from American fuckin trash such as what u r,

U in Italy, haha thats like sayin me in Africa, don't go together, u my friend is a fuckin joke

andare a succhiare un grosso cazzo nero

  • Una questione, tu parli italiano, come me?

  • haha

    pwned

  • Somehow I think Italian Stallion is a gay porn actor, but that's ok, everybody has the right to earn money in the way he or she likes. For myself, I like to sculpt.

  • This guys are legends, and the fact they are Italian to, cause I'm Italian myself to, they inspire me to do great, Two Icons in my opinion, Cinema will never be the same when this guys are gone,

    Italians Do it Better btw

I always wanted this two guys to be in a together movie directed by Martin Scorsese, also with Keital, Pesci, Liotta, and Walkin all in a movie together, now that would be fuckin movie! We can only imagine

  • DeNiro mainly Irish though.

  • Some of them are human

  • What ya mean mainly Irish, he's father was half Italian/Irish, he's mother doesn't even have Irish blood, she's german, dutch and french, but that's not the point, don't matta if he's not full Italian, to US Italians he's Italian, whether you non Italians like it or not he's one of us!

    END OF FUCKIN DISCUSSION

  • brad pitt and george clooney take notes.

  • well said!

  • corny and over-hyped. it would be more interesting to see them in a comedy together. their tough guy personas are far too predictable.

  • I love the Scene, simple but so powerful.

  • 2 of da gr8est actors ov all time dey dnt make em lyk dey used 2 =(

  • al pacino e de niro origini italiana...... peccato che nn sanno parlare l'italiano!! 2 attori straordinari l'orgoglio dell'america.

  • great movie great director check out the movie "thief" with james caan another michael mann masterpiece

  • What can I say. This is the best scene in this type of genre that I have seen in my whole life. Something that really is fantastic is how De Niro acts, this guy is just there and does it. I have seen some actors who really fight to act and it looks good in the end but De Niro is just there in the moment and just does it. I think that De Niro is the best actor the world has ever known. This is my opinion.

  • Is it just me, or did anyone else think for the longest time that these two legends weren't even in this film together? In the actual movie, you don't ever see both of their faces in the same frame at the same time. It's only the back of one's head that you see with the other's face, and vice-versa. Even in the end scene on the airfield, they are also not in the same frame at the same time (Their faces, anyway). When I saw footage like this years ago, then I knew they were together.

  • The director just explained that. Watch it again.

    =)

  • Crow: I know he explained why he did that (I WAS paying attention), I'm just asking if anyone else thought they weren't in the film together BEFORE we saw the director's explanation.

  • Yeah, a lot of people thought they weren't together for this scene. I'm glad that this doc shows that they were. This is a good addition to such a great, underrated movie.

  • ever notice that de niro was in the godfather part 2, as the young Don Vito Corleone, Pacino as well was in it They are now both together in Righteous Kill.

  • Vdo: Yep. Here's another Godfather-related trivia question for you: Who are the only two actors in movie history to win an Oscar for playing the same role?

  • De Niro and Brando.

  • Vdo: Ding Ding Ding! Right. And now we move on to the 2nd round: Who was the highest paid actor to appear in The Godfather? Hint: It is absolutely NOT who you'd think it would be.

  • its not somone youd think eithe heheh, Richard S. Castellano

  • Vdo: Yes, Fat Clemenza! Good job. And now for the final round of Godfather Trivia: Who is the ONLY non-Corleone to appear in all three Godfathers?

  • sorry for the delay, havent been on youtube in a while, the answer is Al Neri played by Richard Bright:)

  • Vdo: RIGHT! You scored 100% in Godfather Trivia! Come back and play again real soon! Bright was also in Pacino's first movie: The Panic In Needle Park in 1971. It was a very sad day when I heard he died (and HOW he died). Neri kept Michael safe and alive for over 30 years. Good bodyguard. Good actor. Good man. R.I.P. Mr. Bright.

  • my favorite film

  • I disagree.

  • Iconic inheritors of the Cagney, Bogart mystique- give me a break!

  • Michael Mann is a God!...

  • The conversation is great, it's simple but great. Everyone expect them to have some kinda of great speech because they're super star and some big thing have to come out from them when they meet. But this scene is history, they did it with class.

  • word

  • at the end of the film just al and rob fighting is awesom u have no idea whos going to win if u get me cus der equals tis brill love it

  • Pacino and Deniro are my favorite actors and I think they should work together more often. Both of working them together makes 5 star movies.

  • vito corleone vs michael corleone;;;man it s a piece of art, a masterpiece!! Thanx M. Mann

  • Great scene,great movie.Bravo!

  • The ending is the best part...and the shootout...and the converstaion...hell, Heat could be the best film of all time!!!!

  • the conversation isnt much but the movie is excelleent

  • this is like one of the best parts of the film! it is amazing to see these two tremendous actors speaking this wonderful dialogue!

  • fine but the actual content of the conversation is well...negligible, the action in the movie is the best part, the bank robbery and all that

  • i do agree, the shootout in the street is one of the best scenes in a movie comitted to cinema, but i think that the conversation is jst a brilliant piece of film that will be remembered for its sheer excelence!

  • DE NIRO IS THE MASTER......

  • fucking legendary scene

  • this was awesome.i just loved al pacino...

  • best film of all time.

  • wow, this scene is soo great, al always makes things soo realistic, hes a greatest actor, with scarface, godfathers. robert is good as well.

  • de niro is more Irish than he is Italian.

  • he says he is more in touch with his italian side.

  • lol scarface vs that dude outta goodfellas

  • Scarface Vs. The Taxi Driver

  • pacino's look at9.45 Classic

  • i'd be lucky to have this much chemistry with my wife in this lifetime...

  • LOL

  • you just made my day..for this great posting '

    i million kudos to astating

  • ...............capachiniro.............

  • Great actors, and my favourite part of the movie ''Heat''!!!I love both of them!!!

  • I'm not just saying this because I have an Italian background but these guys are the best two living actors in my opinion, I aspire to be half as good as these two in my acting career and I owe these two guys everything. I love them both. Legends.

  • lmfao

  • Its almost like the have a stare down at the end

    pacino wins and smiles

  • when they appear together i felt pacino had so much more presence and life than de niro.

  • If Pacino's Vince Hanna character seems to have more presence, it's because he isn't disatached from violence the way DeNiro's Neil McCauley character is. Hanna is haunted by the innocent people he has seen killed. McCauley denies himself emotional attachment -that is until he meets that woman. Having said that, I like the way DeNiro portrays McCauley's intelligence; weighing each thought and action like a chess player.
