Bruce isn't that good a vocalist in my opinion. He has certainly mastered that mid-range, but he lacks variety. Not to mention his stage presence annoys me. Midnight (Crimson Glory) and Harry Conklin (Jag Panzer) are definitely better vocalists, much more deserving of your praise. Dio is definitely a valid comparison!

@Caerbannoq I mentioned Bruce in a "mainstream" comparison. And i do think he is awesome anyway. As for the ones you mentioned - they are a little too "power metal" for me. Instead i would like to mention Todd Griffin (Griffin), Rob Halford or Mark Shelton (Manilla Road), who IMO are great too.

PS: Im glad whe left Ozzy out of the equation. Anyone who praises his singing dont know what they are talking about. Lets just agree that Dio is god.

@rcg1989 They were formed in the early 1980s, the 1st studio album came out in 1986 (Epicus Doomicus Metallicus), then in was Nightfall (1987), Ancient Dreams (1988), Tales of Creation (1989) and the live album, 1990. Then their lead singer Messiah Marcolin quits the band and there come two records (Lp and studio album Chapter VI (1993) with Thomas Vikstrom, now singing in Therion. Messiah joined another great band, Memento Mori.

Marcolin's voice is not characteristic for doom, I would say, his appearance is original. And there's something I love about him. This song shows him from the best side.

Marcolin's voice is so sensitive. So tragic, and sometimes psychedelic. I feel that every word he sings, matters for him, and so for me. For me he's best singer.
