i have a 01 4.7. i put a cheep thrush muffler on it and i reallly lost alot of power and mpg. i was wondering if i should get a new muffler and which one? itd be sweet if someone gave me advice haha
@xXFmxKingXx depends if its single or dual exhaust. I have never been a fan of dual exhaust, even though thats what I installed, trading power for sound basically.. I want to change to a burns stainless muffler for a new sound. Might not get to though, too much work needed on the motor. Also depends how much money you are willing to spend for something nice
@nfgblitzdude08 its a single, i have the cat and i dont have a turndown after the muffler, no pipes after the muffler either so im thinking that might be half the problem.
@xXFmxKingXx never can tell, vehicles seem to act differently to different things. Like, I have 28 parts installed so mine sounds different than most other dakotas I have heard. And its really hard to help somebody to choose an exhaust that fits their interest. I only got mine to install a jet stage 2 chip, then I backed out of the chip. I miss my single exit
@nfgblitzdude08 yea theres nothing after the muffler though so im hoping if i put a turndown on it that it will create some backpressure and hopefully impove a little.
@xXFmxKingXx possibly.. I dont know much about a turbo car but it seems like when they run a downpipe, they get a ton of power.. seems like downpipes are more in demand than gas haha
@DMB41TwoStep a lot of people have installed burns stainless mufflers lately. They gear towards an Indy sound in ways, racing exhaust. They are still relatively new and range around $250, not really priced all of them. But if installed, you may be the only V6 dakota in America with a burns stainless muffler. I plan on getting another tune soon and installing an X or H pipe with burns stainless mufflers. If either systems will fit under there. You might check my other video without the 3rd cat
thank you to all the dakota owners who are f'ing up their trucks, blowing their motors and so forth to make my stock 02 dakota worth more every day. your patronage is appreciated! LOL im just kidding. nice one!
@aaminjoshi91 well.. I never really heard it in person.. I have one of the cats off of mine.. there should be another video of it on my profile somewhere.. people say it is loud.. I think it is quiet.. but theoretically the Super 44, if you take cats off of your truck.. it should be louder than mine
@nfgblitzdude08 well you know i've seen the interior styl of both the 40 and super 44 and they look similar also their case size is the same, btw i got a 4.7 2002 durango thats kinda why i though to ask you about it, i got some vids up of my exhaust if you wanna check em out too
yeah its about time for a change up.. im debating.. either way the last two cats are coming off.. 330bhp sounds much better when exhaust is not fighting to exit.. but i also refuse to sacrifice back-pressure.. thats why im debating lol
ah I did not have that in the info box.. its a 4.7L H.O. motor, H.O. Cams and plastic manifold, FIPK, Jeep ring and pinion, AC Autotechnic airflow maxxer, 45hp Chrysler computer tune.. it does not sound like this anymore though.. its 70% louder now, check out my profile with the other vids
wow that sounds really nice, i have a 99 dakota v6 and was looking for an exhuast to get and urs is the nicest ive heard so far, sounds nice and deep, how much was the set up?

I have a 97 V6. I don't want as loud as I can get. I want mine to sound nice, but not redneck. Any suggestions?

It's a V8. Look at the title.
