Okay, so Paxton supercharger has to be added to the list of items to install on a Corvair! VERY NICE!! Wait, how is top speed affected? Is it extended? How fast would you say this Corvair can cruise?
im about to buy a 1966 corvair for 800 bucks ,needs some de rusting and a paint job,has been siting for 18 years, but did run perfectly when parked, inside was redone before parked as well, any tips? ideas?
what is a good price to pay for a corvair. i am thinking about buying one as my first car, how do i know im not getting a lemon since this type of car is so old ?
are corvairs good enough for a person to have as their only car and would you drive it on the highway. when i say good enough i mean safe for driving everyday even in snow ?
Chevrolet sold MILLIONS of Corvair's in the 60's. they EXCEL in snow because of the heavy rear weight bias, but their heater leave some to be desired.
I drive 3 of my Corvairs wherever I'm going. Usually a couple hundred miles, sometimes several hundred. Nice and simple to fix with ordinary hand-tools. They get mid 20's mpg, and are super fun and good handling... Better than any musclecar Chevelle or Mustang! Search MY vids for Corvair and Turbo. I have a gr8 time with my Spyder and camera...
@CORVAIRWILD So your Corvairs handle 70mph or faster no problem I take it? Were any Corvair made with factory a/c? Not trying to be sarcastic, just seeking a bit of knowledge. I went to a car show in Visalia California years ago and a very large family there drives nothing but Corvairs. They love them!!
@tbmst2 I love driving my 66 monza coupe in the snow, get good winters on it, I was pulling out around subarus in the merge lane. BC Cnada. The heater is iffy but it will keep your widshield clear. Clarks sells lots of upgades for the heater system

well all old cars will require more maintenance than most, and will have their issues.

@whiteribbonman1 Yep, a few were made with factory AC...however, those are a bit on the scarce side!
