No, Misaki didn't dig his own grave.

He constructed his own coffin, did impressive woodwork on the cover, carved out a tombstone with his own witty life description, ordered a funeral service, called a priest, set up a gazebo, arranged the chairs, invited everybody he knows, provided them with black outfits and composed his own depressing BGM.

The grave digging probably happened when he met Haruhiko. The hole is currently a mile deep but apparently he doesn't seem to be finished yet. XD
