My grey has never rooed, and I've had him four years. He whimpers and chatters when he hears youtube rooing, but never joins in. Why is that? Anyone know?
@shellesbellestoo He was a kennel dog for his first four years and has occasional short bouts of strange coughing which soon disappear. Maybe that's it! Maybe he had enough of rooing when he shared kennels with all his racing pals!!
OMG we had a greyhound Wallace that looked just liked this and "roo'd" just like this. He used to intersperse his "chirps" with "laryngitis". Sounded just like this. Sadly he crossed the rainbow bridge in 2009, but this reminded me so much of him...........
What a cute little roo. He's givin' it all he's got. Such a good boy! Bet he'd break out in a full-out howl if he was in a room with a couple of singing greys.
hah my girl doesn't really roo either - she barks, and she cries but ts not really rooing

Aw! This sounds just like my girl. She'd do this before a good roo, like a warm up. Makes me want to rescue another Grey...
