  • that solo is f*cking face-melting. It just keeps going...

  • God I fucking hate the Battlefield 3 ads.

  • remember learning this song sophomore year highschool, singing in the art class at military academy. i then dropped out. art is beautiful

  • Suffering this joy

  • one of the greatest bands i've ever seen. been listening to them since i was 17, 24 now .. and their music will live on.

  • best guitar solo of all time.

  • @13points It's great! but not the best of all time, I respect your opinion though!

  • we're all allowed to have our own opinions about music you know.......

  • This song ROCKS !!! :-)

  • 1:50 I don't know why but I love that part! And obviously the whole song too!

  • @Biorazvr ya its pretty sick. the same weird voice is in their song "in a jar" i think it sounds even cooler that song but this song is fucking fantastic. best songwriter ever

  • ive probably owned this album for a good 2 1/2-3 months now, this song, on my ipod, has 1930 plays

  • The butcher's song.

  • Fuck all those books and studies that try to explain adolescence. This song captures it perfectly in 4 minutes.

  • watch?v=FJEEgOSyPec

  • this song makes me want to cruise on a longboard at 50 miles per hour all over town.

  • @richardspratley u mean THE shit, righT?

  • Dino for life YEA!!!!!! and their new stuff isn't even bad

  • If there was ever a song that represented my feelings for a girl, it would be this song.

  • "you don't have to torture me"!

  • One of the best indie albums of all time, I am sincerely worried how the modern indie bands heard this, picked up instruments in inspiration, but left out all the balls somehow.

I mean how you could start here and get to Bright Eyes...makes you wonder.

  • @mrfudgeyhead i like bright eyes and dinosaur jr's is my favorate band got a problem?

  • @taoinmusic

    Yeah, let's fight about it.

    You're on kid.

I like Bright Eyes too, Dinosaur Jr. just shreds dick over them though.

    Land.Locked.Blues.

  • @mrfudgeyhead i dont get the last part of your comment... but anyways i agree with you so yeah..

  • @mrfudgeyhead Have you ever heard commander venus? Conor Obersts project prior to bright eyes when he was 13-16? The Dino Jr. influence can EASILY be picked out..

  • @MusicUs513 Why in god's name would you listen to a 13 year old conor obersts LOL jesus LMAO

  • @bradford8232 Because Conor Bberst is a brilliant songwriter number one, and number two, @mrfudgeyhead inquired how one could derive Bright Eyes from Dinosaur Jr.. open your fuckin ears people.

  • @MusicUs513 I remember when I thought Conor Obersts was a great song writter... In junior high... you have a lot of music to discover if that is what you consider brilliant song writting LOL

  • @bradford8232 If you payed attention to the lyricism and the concepts behind his songs you would obviously not have the same opinions you do now. I listen to and appreciate all different styles and genres, from Dinosaur Jr. to J Dilla and everything in between.. it's quite ignorant of you to talk down upon my knowledge of music because you don't like Conor Oberst any longer. Use that jr. high mentality and broaden your horizon once again, cause it sounds like with age came close-mindedness.

  • Anyone no whats being said in the sample? Have a few ideas but was never sure. I really think it adds to the song. That part is pretty emotional. Anyway of of J's best tunes!!

  • @fistikuffs I wish I knew too, and where it's from.

  • @fistikuffs is your name by any chance talking about primus' song fisticuffs?

  • @l0veall No mate because Primus SUCK!!

  • @fistikuffs

pretty sure that's just lou mumbling shit, not a sample.

    Chad

  • They were right to release "You're Living All Over Me" (1987) in a perfect remastered version in 2005 for it makes you feel the sonic power of the record. The definitive successor to "Raw Power" (1973) by Iggy & The Stooges!

  • @lyonslaforet I love Dinosaur Jr and The Stooges, but i dunno about it being the successor to Raw Power..J Mascis's voice isn't comparable at all to Iggy's..

If anything man, i'd say its more similar to Husker Du's Zen Arcade or New Day Rising

  • @BigCopout Actually, the guitars mixed very forward on the remastered version reminded me a lot of Iggy & The Stooges' masterpiece.

  • @lyonslaforet Cool, ill have to check that shit out

  • I fucking yelled at their concert to play this song. Instead J looked at me with his sleepy face expression I was probably like- Yeah whatever

  • You're living all over me!

    Great album name, RIGHTEOUS album!!!

  • I love the way mascis jumps in with the solo. So energetic!

  • 2:34

  • I agree! It's like the song is just going along then the solo just slides in, but like fast, and yea, energetic.

  • wow this is so wonderful/great/fucking good/emotional/raw/pure/etc. blahblahblah

    This rocks :D

  • @paranoidlackofsleep

Wow you said it best. I love the mixture of noise, samples, melody, in other words Raw Power. Jr. Thanx for the wonderful memory's.

  • what is that effects at 0:49?

    chorus?

  • Doesn't sound like chorus to me.

It sounds like he has his treble controls all the way up on his jazzmaster and his marshall amp slightly overdriven, and some reverb.

It sounds different because he's playing the same part as Lou Barlow, but an octave higher and it's creating a chorus-esque sound.

  • My guess would be chorus and the whammy bar.

  • Definitely chorus.

  • I played this with my old band, I used a whammy pedal set to one octave below,

  • love it.

  • Got a tear in my eye.

  • im in love with this song

  • I eat raisans with my mouth and my ears.

  • Possibly one of the best songs on one of the best albums ever!

Just learning to play this on guitar too and it sounds great.

  • awesome song by an awesome band.
