@TheBoxheadChannel Actually.. The Bible is the most historically reliable source ever. For being 2000 years old, it is still 95-99% the exact same as the old copies from thousands of years ago. We get excited when we find one piece of work from people like plato or aristotle, when really we only have a TINY fraction of their works. There are thousands of copies of the bible, with all of them being 95-99% the same, there are also thousands of fragments of scripture that can be put in it's place.

1. The bible has been copied and recopied for about 2000 years (therefore it's not a very reliable source).
2. No one can speak on behalf of God
3. God is an excuse for your ego, when you say "God damnit" you're damning something yourself.

@omgacat520 And people make little children believe that hell is a scary place, therefore making them want to believe that religion that the people want the children to believe. Also, it will probably be the only religion that the children will ever believe in. When they are exposed to others religions/ideas, the grown up children will either reject that think that it's wrong rather than accepting the idea that there is something else out there, or accept it. Acception probably wont happen.

I believe for one (I'm probably gonna get hate) that all religion is wrong, but people can believe what they want to believe. This is just my opinion, and others are entitled to their opinions, but when a religious person shoves their religion in my face however, I ask them for facts to prove their religion. There are many missing pieces in religion aren't proven, some of them being false. For me, the idea of a higher being like a god is ludicrous. If god created everything, what created god?

@Dracopyre321 Well there are many things in science not proven, and it would be stupid to say that none of what we currently believe isn't false. Why can't god create himself? Many scientists believe the universe created itself. Some people believe god has always been there, others believe the universe has always been there. Its annoying that on the internet if someone challenged atheism? They would get a tonne of dislike and negative responses. But Atheists can say what they want and get likes.

Facts on Religion:
1. most civilizations started on the basis that there is a god
2. there were countless wars and deaths over the centuries on arguments over fact number one
3. overtime we have grown to believe in science, and these religions
4. scientists say religion suppresses them; true
5.religion says science suppresses it; false
reason being; some religious people can't accept the theory that there is not a god. and until then they can't evolve, therefore, religion is suppressing itself.

I am only referring to the religious extremists out there who do think the way I said. Listen, the Bible was written over 1,500 years ago. I mean people used to believe in witches, dragons, and evil spirits causing sickness.

My problem isn't the obvious metaphor in the video. It's the people denying that it is, in fact, a metaphor. No one is falling for it. :P Even if the creators of the video say that it isn't, anyone can see it. If they really didn't intend for this to be a metaphor, they wouldn't have used a cross. @imadorkfish7 Not really. Up until around the 1700's the amount of Christians who weren't literate outnumbered those who were by about 75 to 1. And I don't think the Bible actually says that anyway. But yes, bad grammar anywhere is shameful.
