There was a super homophobic boy in my history class last year that was talking about finding a gay marriage happening, killing the participants, and then... going out to celebrate afterwards..? You could call it joking, but... aren't jokes usually funny? ANYWAY! I tried to talk to him about it, but that was NOT happening. He just had a stupid reason behind everything he said. The next day, I created a sign especially for his locker. It was rainbow and in HUGE black letters said "GAY PRIDE." ;]
I help by telling people the actual dictionary definition of homophobia. It means the fear of becoming the same or of sameness. So fear of gays doesn't even exist. I have a list of every phobia known to man and there is some odd ones but not one for gays. So they're just sounding stupid when they say that. I myself am a lesbian and I can't stress the phobia thing enough. I have four other gay friends and I love them all to death. I have rainbow socks as well.
People need to understand that being gay or lesbian doesn't mean that we can't do the same exact thing as any straight person. It just means that we have a different sexual preference.
Your all fucking degenerates. Why ? Because you as I do not believe in a God. As to the Christian Gay thing, Please What kind of sick joke is that. You will all die soon enough you sick fuckers. No need to reply as I will not read silly ass hate mail from cocksuckers.

although I am straight, I support gay rights. I always have.
a few months ago, my brother made a group on facebook called "equalize yourself." what it was is that you would draw an equal sign on your body somewhere that is always visible (i.e. face, hand, arm, etc.) and it would show that you support gay rights. I put that equal sign on the back of my left hand every day for a good 3 months or so.... but then I though I might have gotten skin cancer so I had to stop.....

oh and although i'm a straight female, i'm going to the pride parade in nyc this weekend with my gay male friend and my bisexual female friend [and another straight female!]
I made a video for the "Be The Change" week on one of my collab channels 7NerdsAPlenty where I came out as a Bisexual. That is the first time I have ever really been able to come out. I have been a human rights activist for a little over a Decade now (I'm 21). I have also been really active in the LGBTQ community, but now I feel that I can be truthful to why I was always so supportive of it. It's groups like the Trevor project that give me hope for the future!

I went to the Gay Pride Festival in my hometown of Salt Lake City, Utah. No, the Mormons were not happy about gay people parading in their streets. They were basically told to fuck off. :)
I felt quite bad for the picketers, though, because they didn't know how scary drag queens can be when threatened. XD
@PinkeySherbet hahah YES! this comment made me happy. :D I grew up mormon, but have always been more attracted to the same sex. so when I finally moved out, I literally went, "HOLLA!" and am oh so very proud of who I am today. mormons can just kiss our ass. :D
@colorlesshamster OMG I know. I had a few nasty nasty words to say to the protesters. But the drag queens yelling at them was so priceless and amazingly happy. :)

im proud that i stand up for those of my friends that are gay and im proud to have been able to see clearly through the hate that can sometimes surround me and my friends that are gay.
My best friend and I are going to San Fransisco in two weeks to go to the pride parade! I don't know if that really means anything, but we support anyone who takes pride in who they are!
though I don't usually post comments, I am a regular watcher and at this pont I just wanted you to know ... that I'm a member of the Organizational Board of Budapest Pride, the Hungarian pride festival. ;)
and to leak some inside info: I'm in the middle of organizing THE Rainbow Party of Budapest for 2010 ;) <3
what do i do for pride month? i wear a shirt every weekend when i go shopping or whatever that says " hi im bisexual!" and the back says "whistle if you are lgbtq!" and i see how many whistles i get. i had the shirt custom made, it's awesome!
I feel slow, I didn't know it was pride month. but I guess you could say I show pride on a daily basis cause I always wear a rainbow bracelet and earrings.
I'm one of those who is ok with being gay and has accepted being gay and accepts everyone else but im not proud to be gay...most of the time i feel being gay is like having a disease that makes people what to stay away from you...especially guys, even when you are not sexually attracted to them they still think your gonna pounce on them or try to turn them :S
OMG my friend met you and I am so jealous that I didn't stay in Cali for my summer break I could have met you. He sent me a pic and I will just have to settle for that :(
The more I've become a part of the community the less respect I have 4 any organization affiliated. I learned that despite centuries of GLBT ppl treated as third class, beaten, raped, baited, bashed, mocked, ostracized, humiliated, bullied and murdered we come out only to be just like out str8 counterparts. Narcissistic, catty, and just unpleasant. And the gay community sees itself as exclusively white. No concept of other races. The white gay community is more racist than str8. Not u tho. :)
@wildreed21 That's a VERY generalized, oversimplified, hurtful statement, right there. If you believe that the gay community as a whole doesn't recognize other races as part of itself, you are sadly mistaken, and desperately need to get out more.
@IanALane True, really general statement. Doesn't make it any less true when taking "majority" and "most common experience" into consideration. And I wish that my opinion had formed from just one or two or three observations, but it formed from several different sources. So yea its not a result of one observation.
@wildreed21 First of all, thanks for subbing =P It's appreciated. Second, I don't know that you can really say something like that, and make it true at all, without having put together a sociological research study that proves that it exists outside your area, wherever that may be. From my, personal point of view, I've never even had any encounter where another member of the LGBT community has acted discriminatory towards anyone else, ever. Definitely bitchy sometimes but that's another story.
@wildreed21 But, I feel also like that is how, I as a white male, feel when black people say "those white people" act and feel and do these things... I can't be lumped in with "white people" as a whole... just as I (and others, who aren't like this) can't be lumped in with gays who are as racist and discriminatory as straight people can be [not to put ALL of them in a box, either]... and, again, there's no valid proof that suggests that it's really the "majority" of gays that feel this way.
@wildreed21 Some organisation are genuine...i volunteered for a youth group in my last city i lived in and then help kids have a place to go...i never had that when i grew up and im only 24...ive learnt over time to except my sexuality but i now live in a country where you dont need to more or less shout from the tree tops about your personal life and unfortunately thats what i think pride events are about...if you have gay pride why not pride events for everyone
I would go to the parade but I'm in Marietta, Georgia, right outside of Atlanta. Yeah..a little far off there >.>
I show my pride by trolling on the trolls who bash us for loving people. And I got this rainbow bracelet from a pride parade on Valentine's Day in my park two years ago and I haven't taken it off since. And when people ask what it's for I tell them. And then when I have friends who I've said something about gay people too, and they go "eww" I get offended and yell at them. =3
I show my pride by being out & proud no matter what people say. <3
I also have a "Gay? Fine by me." t-shirt and a rainbow bracelet. I'm trying to volunteer with my local LGBT community center and might be auditioning for a play by Richmond's LGBT theatre company, Triangle Players.
Thanks for all that you do, Tyler. You truly are an amazing person. (=
@Meredity123 he always speeds his videos up...this one is more sped up then usually...if you watch all his videos he does do a FAQ one where he says he does this...its a good way to get what you need to say across to everyone without having a long video

Not u tho. :)
wildreed21 1 year ago
@wildreed21 That's a VERY generalized, oversimplified, hurtful statement, right there. If you believe that the gay community as a whole doesn't recognize other races as part of itself, you are sadly mistaken, and desperately need to get out more.
IanALane 1 year ago
@IanALane True, really general statement. Doesn't make it any less true when taking "majority" and "most common experience" into consideration. And I wish that my opinion had formed from just one or two or three observations, but it formed from several different sources. So yea its not a result of one observation.
wildreed21 1 year ago
@wildreed21 First of all, thanks for subbing =P It's appreciated. Second, I don't know that you can really say something like that, and make it true at all, without having put together a sociological research study that proves that it exists outside your area, wherever that may be. From my, personal point of view, I've never even had any encounter where another member of the LGBT community has acted discriminatory towards anyone else, ever. Definitely bitchy sometimes but that's another story.
IanALane 1 year ago
@wildreed21 But, I feel also like that is how, I as a white male, feel when black people say "those white people" act and feel and do these things... I can't be lumped in with "white people" as a whole... just as I (and others, who aren't like this) can't be lumped in with gays who are as racist and discriminatory as straight people can be [not to put ALL of them in a box, either]... and, again, there's no valid proof that suggests that it's really the "majority" of gays that feel this way.
IanALane 1 year ago

chibiwolf1005 1 year ago
I show my pride by being out & proud no matter what people say. <3
I also have a "Gay? Fine by me." t-shirt and a rainbow bracelet. I'm trying to volunteer with my local LGBT community center and might be auditioning for a play by Richmond's LGBT theatre company, Triangle Players.
Thanks for all that you do, Tyler. You truly are an amazing person. (=

I reckon humans will always be all right, cause of human rights, but dogs (and other animals) are not always that fortunate. xoxo

@Meredity123 he always speeds his videos up...this one is more sped up then usually...if you watch all his videos he does do a FAQ one where he says he does this...its a good way to get what you need to say across to everyone without having a long video
