@RgZspotA. It's mostly MesoAmerican Tradition. Some of it Ancient tradition, before the Spaniard cames. Most Guatemalans are Mayans. And it is known that Mayans Invented more things and the Indians around them copied...including the Aztecs/Mexica people. Tamales, tortilla, and many other things pre dates Mexico ( as a country).
