  • is makino from japan or the united states?

  • Will the D500 have a turning option in the table. Presume the DDR motor will make this a possible option?

  • @cncit The D500 is capable of being programmed to rotate A and C axis past a tool in the spindle, and you could define that as turning, but this machine is not intended to be a turning machine in the traditional sense. No specific option is defined for this type of function at this time.

  • @MakinoMachineTools Ok thanks, to me this is the best 5 axis out there in it's size range at the moment. Looks like a great allrounder. John

  • come è facile su un blocco di cemento....

  • Wow that's a new concept to have the saddle ride in Y rather in X Is that a rigidity enhancement?

  • The D500 axes configuration has Y, Z on the column and A, C, X under the table. The perpendicular placement of the A(tilt) and X(linear) axes prevents their individual axis motion from impacting each other, providing rigidity, tight geometry control, and high accuracy for each axis.

In addition, this design provides better operator accessibility to the part. The part literally tilts toward the operator door so the operator has greater visibility and access to the part and workzone. --Bill
