If anyone is interested to know, the Volvo 144's featured in the stack 'em high advert were all brand new, flood-damaged vehicles which were due to be scrapped anyway, but were kept for that commercial. Bet you didn't know that, did you ?!

No sex in Volvos - "sorry!". What a great ad, dryly playing with all the prejudices and image of total rationality Volvo had in those days. The Volvo 140 was a superb car for its time and can still be driven in daily traffic today. You can't really say that about its competition 40 years later - if they still are on the road...
