  • what a great video.really enjoyed watching that,as a person has already mentioned love to have seen it complete.

  • Thanks.

More? Like the rest of Dare? :D Go on? Pleeeaaasssee? ;)

  • That's so cool! I'm jealous. I need one of those

  • I think its fantastic how you break the tracks down into their fundemental parts. Keep up the good work its inspirational to watch 10/10. How do I get in touch with you as I have an ensoniq Mirage and cant get the editors that you use?

  • I am a guitar player but I am a big synthpop freak and found this fascinating

  • ok i hav e got the main parts laid down in my workstation. I have no idea how to grab the voice parts ie phill and the girls saying "hard times" so would welcome your knowledge on sampling just those words from the song.

    and great videos.

  • That Love And Dancing album is quality. Martin Rushent did an amazing job.

  • What a brilliant tutorial! Amazing job!!!!

  • Great video! Makes you realise how far technology has moved forward though as I think I recall that Martin Rushent would spend as much as two weeks programming all the parts for a single track into the Roland MC8. Instead of two weeks you can can probably do the same in less than 2 hours with modern equipment. Hard Times still remains a great track, especially the Love and Dancing remix :-)

  • @1986uno45s Yes I agree with your comment, here's my challenge. We all now have much more synth power than Martin had, so where are our tunes? (methinks it's a question of talent!)

  • Fantastic!! Very very well done! Kudos

  • btw bro, hey could you upload a video of human league showing us how to play Fascination? i want to learn how to play that song next! man thanks for teaching me again about how to play hard times. teach me fascination now. whenever u get time thanks dude!

  • thanks alot man for showing us how to play this. man i love the human league and i love this song, i play with the trumpet tho. on my synthesizer. the sound i use is trumpet and harp. yeah this is great how you compose and add everything together. now i see how they make a top record. thanks again for everything!

  • Its a great album , love and dancing. You maybe know the story about Dare but basically Martin Rushent wrote it as well as produced it. The master tape was falling to pieces for love and dancing. Good story. However , you have been in your wifes clothes again and also seem to have raided her costume jewellery.

  • How cool. Hard Times is one of my favorite songs! Thanks for sharing it!

  • excellent tutorial, thank you for sharing it on youtube

  • after watching from start to finish,,,, got to say, damm excellent, damm excellent :-)

  • Excellent.... always a pleasure to see the master at work.

For a while there I thought you might have ditched the Super Nova.

  • freaking too cool man... totaly stylish... wish more musicians put together videos like this.... thanks so much!!!

  • This is absolutely brilliant! I am so glad I have subscribed to your channel. There are so many rubbish synth videos on youtube that genuinely talented ones like yours stand out easily. This is the kind of video which inspires me to go to my keyboards immediately. Many thanks for this one and I already look forward to your next cover. Please do carry on.

  • Great Tutorial! Thanks!! ..... Good to see you posting new material again. Especially stuff of this quality. That EPS is a nice machine!

I've got some free time tomorrow I'm going to have a go at this..... I'm sure I can fire up all the sounds in one bank on the ESI4000. So thanks again for the tutorial.

  • Why you're no twit at all, but rather a very talented man.

Always liked that tune, Great Lesson, thanks.

  • i love your style

  • That was great! Wanted to see the final performance featuring all the parts though! :)

  • @matrixsynth I was going to do exactly that (include final performance), but there are so many variations I thought if I show you the parts and "how to" you can have the fun too. I've played for hours with this track, too many hours in fact.
