The key to learning another language is speaking it with other people. If youre wife or husband speaks Spanish and they are teaching you chances are they are speaking to u nice and slow when everyone knows Spanish speaking people speak super fast. Dont plan on being fluent in one or two months try one or two years if youre lucky! NEVER try to translate what people are saying in English into Spanish you will become frustrated! Buenas suerte!

I am an American and i have been learning Spanish for two years. I consider myself very well in both speaking and understanding so i am going to give you some tips. Learn at least something everyday and speak the language with multiple people of all different nationalities. Mexican people are the easiest in my opinion and Cuban people are the hardest. There is a lot of slang in Spanish. For instance you can say Hola for Hello but some people say Que Tal.

@MCRYZO - Only one problem: Google Translator APPROXIMATES language. It translates words, but not always meaning. The computer doesn't understand nuanced meaning or cultural idioms. If you were to type in "The Grand Canyon" It comes up with "big Hole" in Spanish. Vice-Versa for Latinos who, for example, type in "estupido"...the computer will come up with "The Tea Party".

Well, maybe he made a mistake spelling "wrong", but he just wanted to prevent foreign beginner speakers to learn the wrong Spanish. I say so because he is totally right when he says that "hola" is not "hóla" (besides it usually doesn't use (¡!), use (´) on it attempts against our orthographic rules); "good day" is "buen día", and "buenos días (with (´) above "í" not on "a")" is equivalent to "good morning", and "buenAs tardes" is the correct one. That's it. Bye.

they're many different dialects of spanish the same way that they're different dialects of english. In spanish there is no difference between the words morning and day if you dont know spanish fluently yet; shut up and learn the language first because as of now you don't know enough to have an opinion

My point exactly! Thank you. People shouldn't criticize this video. Some people think since Spanish is their native tongue they are solely the correct speakers of the language. I have an ARGENTINIAN friend who told me how frustrated he was when he visited Spain coz people there ridiculed him everytime he opened his mouth. Some dialects might sound funny to others. I'm a Filipino Chinese. When my family visited China last year, our relatives there laughed at our Fookien. That's how it is.
