India and the middle east may be apart of the Asian "continent" but then again Canada and Mexico are part of the North American "continent". Do Canadian and Mexican nationals refer to themselves as Americans? No. It's all geographical semantics.

The fact that East Asians make up the most of Asia is similar to the fact that Americans make up the most of North America. So the title belongs to the majority.
