  • Yo dawg, I herd you like lakes, so I put an lake in your ocean so you can make waves while you make waves.

  • Spongebob Logic!

  • Science, bitches.

  • While underwater water doesn't seem possible, the "river" is actually a briny mix of salt water and hydrogen sulfide. It's much more dense than regular salt water, so it sinks to the bottom and forms a distinct separation that acts and flows like a river. yea. i know...

  • @Darkawk You took that word for word from Cracked.

  • @NewChannelsFTL actually i wrote that article on cracked so its my words

  • DOUBLE RAINBOW ALL THE WAY!

  • That lady sounded like the hippie from my high school class.

  • spongebob physics

  • Where is sponge bob?

  • This video brought to you by Xzibit.

  • Bodies of water within bodies of water within bodies of water.

That is some crazy matryoshka doll shit.

  • holy mackeral

  • The creators of Spongebob were right all along o_o

  • Bikini Bottom?

  • its mixed with some oil substance and has like 2 times more salt in it..

so it has a bigger density

  • I wonder if they have tides that correspond with the ocean's...

  • Fine !

  • nerd orgasm can be heard.

  • you can hear nerdgasms everywhere.

  • scientists lose their shit

  • @MaximilianMontesa

    ...Cracked?

  • Spongebob was on to something here.

  • @ninjapie117 my thoughts exactly!

  • Underwater water

  • Well... those scientists just came, so I'm guessing this is new?

  • LAKECEPTION

  • Doesn't this have something to do with the gravitational force of the sun, and why the Inception jokes, when that isn't water?

  • YO DAWG I HERD YOU LIKE LAKES.

SO WE PUT YOUR LAKE INTO A LAKE SO YOU CAN WAVE WHILE YOU WAVE.

  • @Whateverz77 I knew this was going to show up

  • SKUBACEPTION

  • Water Inside Water........ Fuck Logic.......

  • scientists so high

  • OCEANOCEPTION

  • the deeper end

  • But the question is, Will it blend?

  • yo dawg i herd you like rivers so we put a

  • @SoCalyankeefan BWOOONG

  • @SoCalyankeefan DAMMIT YOU SPOKE MY MIND

  • Holy fucking cunt-nugget-eating Christ.

  • *Inception (Inception joke) joke*

  • Im just waiting for somebody to make an Inception joke its only a matter of time........

  • I... just can't believe Spongebob was being SCIENTIFICALLY ACCURATE when the had water underwater. I will patiently await the "Inception" reply.

  • @TheVader2 Of course it is accurate! Btw fyi, the creator of Spongebob, Stephen Hillenberg is a marine biologist so he must've known something like this!

  • They nerdgasmed all over that submersible

  • ...Awesome.

  • waveception

  • Where did this take place? What country or state?

  • @zillajratomicray Um, the ocean.

  • @sglasspool No it didn't. I found out where it is. It's in a lake in a cave somewhere in Mexico.

  • Cracked.com

  • This shit blew my mind harder than 20 kilos of yayo ever could.

  • thumbs up if cracked sent you here lol

  • @dylandavies9 Shut the fuck up.

  • so spongebob isnt weird for having water in water

  • So water in Spongebob did make sense!! O_O

  • Double Wave > Double Rainbow

  • Play from 0:06 to 0:19 and close your eyes.

  • Manita arriba si viniste de CC!

  • The Quran states salt and fresh water does not mix I tried it with two liter jugs guess what they mixed!

  • @MsOneiroi77 LMGTFY

"It is He Who has let free the two bodies of flowing water: One palatable and sweet, and the other salt and bitter; yet has He made a barrier between them, a partition that is forbidden to be passed. "

Al-Furqan (The Criterion, The Standard) 25:53.

"He has let free the two bodies of flowing water, meeting together: (19) Between them is a Barrier which they do not transgress: (20)"

    Al-Rahman (Most Gracious) 55:19-20.

  • @polyninja that proves nothing are you aware Muhammad also said the earth was flat several times.

    LMGTFY right back at you.

  • @MsOneiroi77 First google LMGTFY. Then google what Muhammad the Messenger said in his own word that the earth was flat. (We have a strict discipline in passing what Muhammad said. We include who quote who quote who until Muhammad. If you can post from which book or which website I would really appreciate it). Then post it or you can e-mail me at pitokmid@gmail.

    Then you can say LMGTFY.

  • @polyninja OMG you just didnt do that did you! You do realize the spam you'll get by giving out your mail address LMGTFY or you can do that yourself.

  • people are really comparing this to spongebob? wtf -.-

ANYWAY how deep are these lakes of denser water? how exactly dense is it? I wonder if it can carry life, besides microorganisms... the amount of pressure in that depth of water probably helps keep the denser, saltier water down

  • @ATY9Productions I'm guessing deep in there you can find tube worms and such. those little guys are little aliens on earth, the only silicon-based complex life forms on the planet!

  • @SillyLitleGirl There are no Silicon based lifeforms on earth.

  • @SillyLitleGirl Nope. All life on Earth (that we know of) is carbon based. Silicon based is still a theory. Plus, Silanes (chemical compounds of silicon and hydrogeon, which would no doubt be part of the make-up of a silicon based creature) quickly dissolve in water, so they couldn't evolve in the ocean anyways.

  • @ATY9Productions Is it bad to compare cartoons with scientific commodities? They named a Molecular protein after Pikachu!

  • yo dawg i herd u like water

  • heavy water ?

  • underwater lake thats just denser water it goes to the bottom its still water but its denser than the water surrounding it its wierd true and freaky

  • Lol

  • where is this lake?

  • @MsCecful Bottom of the Gulf of Mexico

  • Spongebob was right!

  • I wonder if the methane trapped under water at these depths could be related to killer lakes like in Africa that killed thousands? More over, How about the BP oil spill going on now. Where is all that methane going? If the oil spill can be seen from space how much methane is diluted in the ocean water? waiting to be released like popping a cork on a soda?

  • i wonder if anything might be living down there. i mean, things can be living by those underwater smoke vents, what makes it so much more extreme than that environment. makes ya wonder...

  • They have discovered organisms that live near these brine pools. Most are oyester like creatures.Funny thing is if they fall into the brine they die because oxygen cannot dissolve very well in these supersaturated brine pools.

  • It's called a cold seep. Hydrogen sulfide, methane, etc. seeps from the rock below it. Over time it creates rock formations and begins to look like a lake. They're all over the ocean.

  • That's the Goo Lagoon, where spongebob and his friends go swimming

  • lol again?

  • That has to be the greatest response ever. It fits so perfectly. :D

  • LMAO!!!

  • holy shit thats funny

  • @harry911tk lol your right

  • @harry911tk First thing I thought too.

  • i think During the Jurassic period the waters here were shallow and became cut off from the ocean. The area soon dried out, leaving a thick layer of salt and other minerals up to 8km thick. When ocean water returned after the region rifted apart, the super-saline layer at the bottom of the Gulf became an underwater lake. Now brine, which is continually released from a rift in the ocean floor, feeds the lake.

  • ...and all the hype is, for... what?

oil + water @ elementary school = same thing

    still a cool vid

but wth with all the religion trips and stuff?

  • Maybe those lakes were once land?

    Remember the great flood stories?

  • Erm...what am I supposed to see in this video? And why is the discussion about religion? Are people on drugs or what?

  • religion is gay, gtfo

  • i agree.

  • i agree.

  • i agree.

  • i agree.

  • i agree too.

  • Same here. Er... I mean, I agree too.

  • "Or (the Unbelievers' state) is like the depths of darkness in a vast deep ocean, overwhelmed with waves topped by waves". ---isn't that talking about the "unbeliever's state"(person/people) rather than a discovery of an underwater lake(salty brine)?

  • oh good.

for a second there i was afraid humanity would have to apply science to come up with answers to explain unknown things.

THANKFULLY islam, the *ahem* "religion of peace" was there to make sure I don't have to think.

Once again religion has freed us from thought! rejoice!

  • Unless the Quaran informed humanity also of the fact those brine pools are the result of escaping biogenic petroleum gases, your quote is little more than a vague similarity.

    Awesome video.

  • @THRILLHOUSE85 The "Quaran" has quite a number of "vague similarities" then. Quite a number.

  • @CammanderKhan Did you just reply to a four year old comment?

I doubt that This person even remembers commenting on this video. They may have changed their religious beliefs. Alot of things can happen in four years...

  • @KirbyKillerKid didnt notice

  • religion is vague as heck. if the quaran talked about the coming and going of dinosaurs and the evolution of man, i might believe it. otherwise...

  • go fuck yourself you crazy bastard

  • i don't see how that applies, also why would allah find it important to tell a person in the desert about something at the bottom of the ocean? maybe its symbolism?????????

  • I believe it is wrong to taint our imperfect minds with the perfection of the words from the Prophet, who we must not name aloud, or depict visually, or think about directly.

  • I just saw it on the discovery channel and it's completely mind blowing. A lake, a separate body of water, on the ocean floor. And not just that- there's actually a shoreline on the lake where creatures are thriving.

  • ye its super dense salt water

  • its a lake of brine underwater. Like a body of water in a body of water

  • ...and we just watched??? huh?

  • Dude, what is that?? O.o

  • That's a pool of brine; it's so highly saline that, heavier than the surrounding water, it pools at the bottom. It's astounding, isn't it?
