Globalization is the process by which Capitalist markets expand in order to exploit cheap labour and resources. The cultural implications are the spread of Corporate modes of productions and consumption through industrial forms of "development" and advertising. So called third world countries are vulnerable to this process as many are often indebted to the World Bank and IMF. Structural adjustments are enforced and resources are privatised. People no longer have control over their lives.
i dont think the globalisation of medical technologies shud be cast as a negative thing. if even the technology conflicts with the culture of that country people should still be given the option to take any new teatments that are developed.
