  • Does anybody know where one would purchase the album/CD ?

  • @wareidav From Bim Bam Records - google them.

  • @SirBasildeBrush Sir, You are a star.

    I thank you

  • So relatable <3

  • I could never understand why this lady was not a much bigger star. I remember, Like i do, It was a hit when i was about fourteen. Her voice and delivery , in my opinion, were a lot better than some big names of the sixties.

  • As usual the miss evans´s covers of american hits are very good, has a value in their own

  • Love these old songs

  • i'm selling an original 45 of this with "fever" on the b-side on the embassy label at discogs.com

  • Good cover version. Thanks for posting, Sir Bas!

  • A WONDERFUL VERSION thanks for posting.

  • @gf1001 My pleasure.

  • Nice job..but The Poni-Tails version stands out for one particular reason: It's being sung by three young ladies in high school..and it's about young love..for me, The Poni-Tails version will always be the definitive version..

  • I have never heard a comparable immitation of the saxophone from the originaL VERSION OF BORN TOO LATE.. I wonder who was playing the saxophone on the original version does anybody knows?

  • This is quite a revelation to me. I liked the Poni-Tails version well enough, but this is something else entirely (even if the greater maturity here sits a little oddly with the subject matter!) Thanks for posting - I shall explore further!

  • Pleased to give you something to ponder !

  • Her "grown-up" sounding version is very nice!!!! Thanks to Brian for sharing and to Basil for posting it!!!!

  • Maureen's voice is highly polished, like the best of the romantic female warbler's of the 30's. While I liked the Ponitails version, it pales in comparison to Maureen's soulful rendering.

  • Yep, quite operatic and formal.

  • @debunks i agree. i still love the poni tails & the shannons version the best

  • Thanks sir brush, not her best but when you get to hear her rendition of "like I do" or "the Big Hurt", you tend to be spoilt lol

just keep pulling them tracks out !

  • Hmmm ... this little Welsh girl now runs a drama school for kids. This is a very capable performance, but lacks the element of fun in the Poni-Tails version.

  • She's in the phone book! I'm tempted to book myself in for a lesson.

  • Up here in Haworth, we only have P J Proby

  • ..and the Brontes

  • Agree... the Poni tails' cut is a perfect teener... this sounds more liek from some musical (Hay lee lee hay lo :))

  • SEE? Can you feel the way you change people's lives with your music??? I know this gem like the back of my hand...but have never heard this version....LORDY...what a wonderful singer...what a FIVE STAR song!!! Did I say thanks? BLESS OUR SIR B!!!!

    Cousin Brush.....

  • Thanks for the kind comments, they're much appreciated.

Ms Evans has quite a formal style of singing this. Whatever, it's very nice.

  • Thanks- this is a lovely song.
