I went there for many concerts, 87-92, so many I dont even remember them all. Iron Maiden was my favorite. The ambiance there was great, the grass stairs layout was really cool, the stage too. It is very hard to see your own memories fall down, girlfriends, friends, getting wasted, I dont think there ever will be another time like the 80's up to early 90's!! They took down Compton Terrace but they will never take away our memories of the place. It will rest in peace in all of our hearts.
We had some damn good times out there and if Ron "Scraps" McLaughlin AND Lissa Wales were with us today, we probably would have waved Lissa Wales over to the "Lounge" set up under the stage. Made from the empty anvil show cases like we did back in the day when Compton was the only outdoor game in town that would hold a show larger that 3,500. Shows were either here or at the Vet. Mem Coliseum.
Rest in Peace Scraps and Lissa Wales.....You are missed by many.
yes stevie nicks father owned Compton tarrace, this should not have happened ever..! should have been rentavated upgraded, well if thay still own the property it might just come back biger and better one day..? David Coffin*
