@techdude6693 Yeah but its still just nasty. Kia did all of these improvements and they still left the worst part of the old one there! Other than that I wouldn't say its an all to terrible car for the money. I even heard that soft touch materials are available on higher trim levels!
@Jakeman21642 Yup, plus fully optioned out for 20K, can't really beat that since its one of the more powerful in the class and gets the best fuel economy too. Plus you don't really expect to see power folding side mirrors, smart key, and a back up cam at that price either
@techdude6693 I'm actually really starting to like these. They don't look half bad either! The new accent is also pretty nice (I've been seeing them everywhere lately) but this car looks a lot more hip and modern.
@Jakeman21642 Yea, I'd get a Rio over an accent too. Mostly because you can get Leather, Navi, and smart key on the rio which the accent doesn't have. (I'm guessing the accent doesn't because the Veloster does and they want to give some incentives to get that car instead). I'd probably get this or a Honda Fit if I wanted a subcompact, but right now I'm good with my Forte Hatch
@techdude6693 I currently have a 71 beetle convertible which is my baby but I know when I go to college its not going to be a practical car so I want to get something cheap just for going around town. The rio is making its way on my list along with the fit and mazda 2. I liked the veloster until I saw it in person its just too awkward! I could get a pretty much fully loaded rio for the price of most base model cars and the 10 year warranty is a major plus! Bravo kia!
@Jakeman21642 I'm not a fan of the 2. The engine is underpowered and it has an ancient 4-speed auto. ugh. Kia's rebates are pretty good too. They actually give you $1500 rebate if you finance through them. I got my fully optioned out Forte for 19,750 and it sitckered for 23,700
@techdude6693 Well the 4 speed auto doesn't matter to me because I would get a manual transmission for more fun but the super cheap interior on the 2 is what bothers me. The only soft part is the seats! I like the fit but it just seems so blah to me and the hp is kinda sad. The rebates and everything just make this car sound even better. I forgot about the forte I guess I should look at that too! It still will be at least a year before I even consider looking but kia is on my list to check out
@Jakeman21642 yea, I hear you. Even I just bought my forte after getting into college. I had an 06 Scion tC 5-speed before and frankly, I don't miss it at all.
@techdude6693 The tC is nothing but looks. My mom test drove one when she was car shopping in 07 and she just couldn't stand it. The cheap creaky interior was also pretty annoying and from what I've seen they don't age well.
@Jakeman21642 I think the first couple model years were better. It wasn't the best car, but hey, it was pretty good for a first car plus it was $7000 when I bought it with 40K on it, served me well for 3 years
I love in Rio, Brazil, but there is not Kia Rio here, come on :P

@Jakeman21642 yea true, but then again doesn't really matter since it doesn't affect the overall performance of the car
