They so definitely NEED to do a live action Jem movie. The movie absolutely, positively MUST take place in the 80's (think the nostalgia of "The Wedding Singer"), it cannot take place in today's present time. The actress for Jem cannot be Miley Cirus (when Jem says; "Jem is my name NO ONE else is the same"... She means it. Nice try Hannah Montana but you're not Jem).
The entire feel to the movie should put us back in the 80's and have Jem and the Holograms rise to fame as big as Madonna's was.
I put that bit of info in there. But on the good side, not only are Shout! Factory and Hasbro working together to re-release the series on DVD, but The Hub added the show to its lineup of cartoons beginning at the end of this month. So a new Jem series sometime in the future just might happen now.
I still dont understand how Britta didnt become a HUGE massive singer just from JEM. Weren't people like "THE REAL JEM!!!!!!!" I mean..she could have been MASSIVE!
Even better, I don't understand why Hollywood doesn't approach Britta to actually BE Jem in a live action action movie. If the pictures I have seen of her on Google were recent, she's a really good looking woman and... She's the actual singing voice of JEM from the cartoon series. JEM fans would love it if she played the lead role, she IS JEM. The movie could be truly... OUTRAGEOUS! I mean for crying out loud look how well "The Wedding Singer" (movie set in the 80's) did.

Jem is the s@#$ they need to bring this back on TV so all these young kids under 30yrs old can see what 80's cartoons had originality and style and meaning unlike this Bull on TV now.
this was done with a range of high tech rotoscopes in tokyo japan, sources close to hasbro have strongly stated that this is the most expensive animation intro in history . mid first season animation was also rotoscoped , due to a rating drop later on the animation was changed to a conventional method resulting in less crisp, fluid and "life like" appearance . due to overwhelming response hasbro/universal-vivendi is considering re-releasing a full line sometime in mid 2011 .
Just had a crazy idea! I think that that all-girl acapella group from "The Sing-Off" would kick ass doing the full minute and a half version of this theme song! I think they were called "Noteworthy"
@punkersdanielle: Whew! I'm telling you, it had been years since I heard the Jem music until I chanced upon this last year. By far, the original theme has the best bass line that never fails to get me pounding! I can feel all of the "hit points" too. That's what a music lover can do!
I've been looking at the these throwback intros, Jem, Ghostbusters, Jayce, Transformers and all the rest. Here's my question. Would you pay for a throwback channel that had these toons? I would as long as the assclowns that run cartoon network are nowhere in the picture.

Actually, Seasons 1-3 ARE out on DVD. They have been for about, oh, I don't know, 4 or 5 years?

Yesh, but they're out of print and cost a small fortune. Plus, Rhino never released the second half of Season 3.
