  • I'm confuse is it for idle or full throttle?

  • @alundrasrt idle.

  • this was for repair the TPS? ´cause i have an Altima 1999 A/T and a have a problem with the TPS, in the scanner appear a error code relationed with the TPS, , when i press the acelerator, the car don´t permit me pass more than 3000 R/P

  • Where do you get your parts for the 300zx? Like a dealer or website or what? Cuz I am doing the same thing but I need to know what is the best place or site to get parts?

    Thanks

  • Umm, dude, you can make the adjustment with multi-meter. No hacking req'd.

  • Yes, plz make more 300zx videos. Im hopefully gettin mine in 3hours. Very excited, and i dnt know too much about mechanics and this would help many ppl, including me

  • I REALLY wish you were still into making this kind of video. I am thankful for what is here, though.

  • i have had a 93 jeep project for a month now, but there wasnt much to make a video about.

  • Oh cool, well keep posting videos anyway, even if you think it's too simple or already explained a million times or whatever. There will ALWAYS be someone out there who can benefit from your knowledge and experience!

    Thanks again

    Mike

  • I dont know much about the spec of that z, but my tps does have the two contact inside the other one being for WOT. ( mine happens to be an 87 300zx turbo 5 speed). I wouldnt suggest bending those contacts though, mainly the ones for WOT. unless you have uped the boost lil and need the extra fuel. otherwise your just wasting gas. and if the object of this video is to simply adjust the TPS then i would suggest to use a multimeter with a continuity setting. and adjust until there is a connection.

  • you want to adjust it so you are at .43 volts at idle and 4.1 volts at WOT.

  • not sure bro, but I think the microswitch makes contact at idle, on the manual z31 that is all that is used..on the auto z31 there is another switch in it that goes to the tranny and tells it to kickdown at full throttle, that is actually a throttle valve switch, a tps uses a rheostat that varies the voltage going through it depending on the ohm restistence, like a lightswitch you turn..I have learned alot from your videos thanks for posting, and you are giving me new life to fix my z31 turbo :)

  • so now does it go faster or something?

  • um, no. this is the throttle position sensor. generally, if its not functioning properly, you suffer idling problems. this fix gets you back to normal function.

  • ALL i can say is.....THANK YOU for this video..i really appreciated....cause i'm having troubles with my z32....my idling keeps on flactuating while i'm in neutral....somtimes it goes to 2500 or it goes down to 800. it kinda' plays around a little bit....now since i saw this video...you just gave me an idea.....again thank you sir for posting this video....you're a good man.....
