@ithacasz : Nothing special, only local soil mixed with some chicken manure or some compost. Can be done all over the world, with any kind of fertilizing agent (goats, sheep, dromedaries, camels, geese, ...). Bacteria will decompose the organic content and thereby gradually enrich the potting (bottle) mix, so that the bottle towers can be used for many years. One can make a fertilizing solution with manure in a bucket and use this muck water to irrigate the towers in the future.
