Hey this is a great video just wondered if you could maybe put up some tips on creating a walking bass line for this piece? If so that'd be great thanks!
You have some interesting stuff here! But if I was to play on that standard, I would rather do a 'progressive' solo rather than jump from chords to run-up scales, otherwise it destroys a bit the anticipation for the audience/listener. But again, you tried to show an enhanced version with various possiblities and different levels of interpretation so I perfectly understand your decision in doing so.
I am truly gratefull for your instructions and generousity with the way you play and explaining what is happening. I am absolutely motivated by what yuo are doing. Keep up the great work.
you are truly an amazing pianist. I can't thank you enough for posting this. I just put it on when I'm doing homework and it's amazing to just sit back and enjoy. thank you thank you thank you.
When Ray Charles by standing next to a player (I don't know if this was before he was blind or not; but they showed this in the movie). Many players from NOLA (and other regions where blue and Jazz reigns) learn to play instruments like piano and horns by ear and by watching others. I like what you are doing as you are passing stuff down in a new tech way. Very kewl, and this is very helpful to others. Great videos, and I like your website also.
Wonderful Doug! How do you insert the bass and drums? I like the way your rhythm section sounds and would like to use a similar technique to make a backing track. This latest trick of lining up the keyboard images really ads to the "readability" of what you are playing. I think you may have become the greatest jazz keyboard teacher. Kudos on both the playing and the instructions.
Sir.. you are my Idol! OMG!!! SO BEAUTIFUL, AND WITH SUCH FEELING..your playing is.... I love your playing without all the extra stuff, and without beats better... Just straight Piano..(old school style..you know? Just straight Piano...Grinding. God Bless! ADONIS
