@hybridstar08 Honestly, I believe it depend on the person who has authority to fire him/her, I mean it isn't Illegal to be gay/lesbian and teach, but based on the feelings of the person with authority, it could be possible if their against homosexuality.
To everyone who responded to my comment, thanks! I believe that, like what Eileena commented earlier on, behind every coming-out story is always equally empowering regardless of yr gender. Just that when it comes to considering the circumstances they were having, I felt a difference between "gay son-family" & "lesbian daughter-family" groups. As in, more love coming from the latter group.
@CaLb3rY: I understand this. It takes time & courage to do this.
@vvindicatedd - we're working on a mandarin translation of the story that's on pinkdot's blog. Should be up pretty soon. Please print it out for your mum to read.
@CaLb3rY - By saying that, you are trivialising the process that my mum and I had gone through. 10yrs is anything but easy.
But the point is that we both tried our darndest best.
@samsaras - behind every coming out story, is alot of tears and love. No one story is 'more empowering'. :)
Can a teacher (whether preschool/primary/secondary) get fired for being gay/lesbian?

@Sedaeful thanks for your reply. some of my friends in the education field are terrified to go OUT there coz they might loose they jobs so... sigh.

@hybridstar08 Like I said depends on the employer, I would leave it to a DadT situation, but don't lie. That just makes it worse.

@hybridstar08 It also leaves open the (G/L/etc) person to sue if proven that they where fired for their sexuality.

Love this video.
It helps that the lady was speaking in chinese.
My mum doesn't understand english so it made it easier when I showed it to her!
Thanks for making this video.

i think that the stories by lesbians and their supportive moms are more enpowering than gays and their parents...

@samsaras I think that it's harder for the male counterparts because in traditional families, the males are the one that passes on the family line.
