嘩，當時年紀小，一切恍恍惚惚的，看不懂白景瑞的《今天不回家》­電影，只記得所有在臺灣及在香港的親戚朋友們都稱讚姚蘇蓉及她唱­的這首《今天不回家》。一轉眼已四十多年。

My memory of this song comes from a movie starring Lydia Shum and Bill Tung (It's a Mad Mad World, I think it's called). They were recounting their days in a sub-letted room, where a Teochew neighbor plays this song at full blast, drawing the ire of Lydia. Classic indeed.

Yes it was a great hit but my memory of it was a few years later. I didn't know it was that early. I think I heard in when I just entered secondary school form 1 or 2, in 1969 or 1970.
