This ocarina just arrived today for me. Been really excited. I can get most notes already on it but i'm having trouble getting the sound from the notes after the high C. When you start to remove your thumbs and also below the low C when you cover the subholes. I have tried gradually using more and less air to find the right pressure but the notes just not coming out at all.

Is there anything you can recommend to help me hit them?

Also your ocarina sounds better even though its the same ocarina

@DrPatar Uh, this may be a little late after 2 months, but if you go on amazon and type in "12 Hole Ocarina From Legend of Zelda" on amazon it should have the same model. I only know because I'm bent on getting it for christmas or buying it myself.

@KawaiiLACSA If you want the ocarina to sound like the ocarina of time, you just need to find an Alto in the key of C I believe. Most songs should be playable on a single chamber ocarina, but a few songs have parts that the usual range doesn't cover.

What the heck is e,g, and low d?

@STMB64 Sadly, most schools don't have instrumental music so not many learn about it. Basicly notes go in a scale c d e f g a b and it continues in both directions for your instrument until It passes your fingerings which is basicly where you put your fingers on an instrument to make sounds like on an ocarina. So low d would be d in the opposite direction and like for example high d would be in the forward direction. Hope it helps

that's actually far from how the song ends. the song ends with a note that can only be achieved on a double ocarina, and there's WAY more to zelda's lullaby than what you've shown here. look up, on youtube, "zelda's lullaby". the VERY FIRST result is the whole song. and in that video, the last note is at 00:38...and is impossible to achieve on a 12-hole ocarina. show me how to play the whole song please?

I got that same exact ocarina a few days ago (its my first, im a beginner).

But no matter what I do, I can't get the high D to sound, not even with the acute bend =( its always like "PFFFFFFF".

Is my ocarina broken? Or am i jsut doing something wrong?

what does bending forward do when you're playing a high note? Does doing so give you more air to make note sound higher?

@madcheme it probably helps make the stream of air that you use to play a more accurate stream which, with my flute experiences, makes the pitch higher. that's my guess at least
