Bob Dylan just couldn't get the sound that he really wanted, he gave Mike Bloomfield free rein on this track. The clincher was the haunting tone from the Hammond organ and Leslie tone box (with revolving speakers) that Al Kooper layed down in this studio track. Since this song was recorded in the 60s the intensity of this song was never captured in any live concert. Once before M. Bloomfield passed, Dylan tried to capture the desparation of this song live. You can't duplicate a masterpiece.

The bottom line is he never sold out, Dylan didn't play music, he felt it. The same with John Lennon. To have sit in a club with 200 other people was a privilege, that feel can't be duplicated in an arena. It is an honor to think Hip Hop came from his roots.
