Yeah, because the developers that edited the songs, added some "weird" sounds on the song.
If you listen old school songs from PIU, you'll find more songs with that way of edition.

Those echoing spoken parts aren't a normal part of the song (I have the MP3 of the original song). They really detract from the song.
