in the 70s in Germany there was the music-television show "Musikladen", where you could choose to call in every episode of his favorite oldies. The oldie with the most votes was subsequently played - was often the "Atlantis" by Donovan. For over thirty years, I have this masterpiece on vinyl and just played again - just sit back and enjoy! The magic that proves Donovan in his music is unique. Thank you for uploading and greetings from Germany.

A lot of songs are written about mythology. Led Zepplin wrote a lot of songs (pre-Lord of the Rings) about J.R.R. Tolken's Hobbit Tales. Misty Mountain hop is one of them and I am not so sure Stairway to Heaven doesn't have a little of the Tolken in it. If Atlantis was true or not doesn't matter. Donovan was a creative writer during this time and some of remember these songs. Hey, if the songs of our time were not good then why do the movies of today use them? Anybody see "Goodfellows"?

Also Donovan Sr. and Donovan Jr. don't really look all that similar.
