Whenever I try and put my avi files in they always show up as audio only. How can I make them video?

@SakuraXxXIchigo Hi, avi is a media container which can be encoded with many different codecs, so sony vegas just supports some special avi videos. As I know, sony vegas supports mp4(H.264/AVC video codec, AAC audio codec) or MPEG2 videos well, so you need to use a right software to convert your failed avi videos to the right sony vegas mp4 or mpeg2 videos.

I set the envelope and added points to drop the volume in the music track, when it plays over that portion of the movie the music fades, the narrative comes in for a second and then both tracks go mute until the music fade is over and then the music picks up again.

If you drag the effect to an event, it should appear. Make sure you are previewing the correct event. The same with transitions, but you need to drag the event over the previoius event in order to expand the transition time. If they still don't appear, you may need to reinstall the software.

I just finished a video in Sony Vegas but the video ends at 3:40 but there are 20 seconds of blackness after that and the video doesn't officially end until 4:00. How can I cut the video so it ends when I want it to?
