many of you have no ideea what really hapened here in Romania ...Ceausescu wasn't bad , the Security made him look bad cuz he din't know how the people lives and how hard it is . Every time when Ceausescu visited a city , everybody was anounced with minimum 2 day's before and the City Hall did every street look better , they put even fake fruits and floweers in the three and when Ceausescu was in that city , he saw a fake happiness and a fake view . He believed that people are happy ...:(

However, we did pretty well in the second World War, and send aid to other countries who are desperate for it. Personally, I didn't agree with the wars in the Middle East. However i do believe that the US plays a major role in demonizing arabs and muslims around the world and was the source of pain to hundreds of thousands in the middle east. The 1989 revolution was not anticommunist. The people of Romania did not knew what communism means. They revolt against the Stalinist regime of dictator Ceausescu, because they had enough of his rule.

I wonder how many Romanian revolutionaries really wanted capitalism. In the end, it was the counterrevolutionaries of the National Salvation Front who reintroduced capitalism. The free market did not brought western luxury to the workers of Romania. The majority of Romania remains poor.

Romania was not socialist. But the planned economy made you feel that your nation was socialist. A planned economy can bring a lot of good things. But win out workers democracy every planned economy will fail.

Stalinist Romania was a state ruled by the bureaucracy around Ceausescu. The workers suffered under his totalitarian rule. The triumph of capitalism was the result of an absent genuine workers party. Therefore it is important to build a massive anti-capitalist workers party.
