  • Can you imagine just taking ride in your car at night to buy something at your local gas station and then guy in the radio says ,, and this is the newest hit from still pretty new guy on the block....Richard Marx!!! I lived moment like this almost two decades later and can't even imagine, how it was when that was really true....when people actually copied guys like this, instead of stupid rappers with gold teeth(my grandma has some too) or Gaga Gugu(child talk?? and disco with stolen ideas)...

  • I used to hang with the guys that designed and built, that 57 Chevy Tail Fin Guitar..

  • hiks.. sedih euy

  • the 80's sweet sound...too bad it's over

  • @Monamika84 I wish i was a teenager in the 80s, but unfortunately i was born in the early 90s. I wish i could time travel, the music in the 80s was a million times better than the shit we have now....

    *sigh*

  • The dude in the vid is G.W. Bailey, best known as Captain Thaddeus Harris from the Police Academy series. "MAHONEY!!!!"

  • To me this is one of the great rock anthems of the 80's... It brings back so many memories. A great song for driving down the highway.

  • Great music, great times, great man. But as a balding individual, his hair makes me weep silently inside.

  • A top class rock track that blows me away. After many years I am back in love with the music of Richard Marx. He is pure genius as a singer-songwriter and his music will stand the test of time. One word to describe Richard Marx, Legend.

  • Man, Richard was on fire back in the good old days.

    Come back Richard!

Show the music world that you still rule!!

Rid us of this garbage we have today!

    LONG LIVE THE 80's!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Love it!! Thanks for sharing!!! There will never be another 80's!! :(

  • One of my faves of Richard Marx. I'm following him on Twitter. If you are twitterers, please follow him :-)

  • Aye Captain!!! Showmanship, lyrics, harmonics. Don't get better than this one. Miss the 80's.

  • Yeah, still listening and still want that belt.

  • checkie4ever..scary..i think just the same..but not just the music..everything was magical in some way. Can't find the words to describe it. You had to be there.

Today i'm almost 41..but remember it like it was yesterday. I would give almost anything...to feel like i felt then. R.I.P...dear 80's.

  • @Snorken70 the 90s weren't too bad where they? I'm a 90s baby and very happy that way, I rep my year! 1990!!

  • @africanchick23 Well..maybe the 90*s wasn't so bad. But after 93 it felt like everything was going downhill. But i have to admitt it's a qustion of generations. I was lucky to ba at the right age just when everything happened. Otherwise it could have felt different. So..every time has it's own beauty..or not ;-)

  • @Snorken70 Sorry for the spelling mistakes...how the hell did that happen? Oh well..you got the idea anyway..and hopefully understand what i wrote ;-)

  • @Snorken70 I see what you're saying, but I felt the going downhill was since 2000. I hate the world today.

  • if u love AOR music like this (and this is NOT "80s" music!!!!) check these new bands:

  • Everyone who likes Richard and his music needs to check out his newer stuff,it's amazing : Duo, Emotional Remains and Sundown I just checked these albums out and his songwriting is better than ever .

  • @checkie4ever Please add youtube links of his newer albums

  • Ok, I'm pulling out the old tape and dusting it off!! I listened to this one A LOT but had forgotten it till this moment. Thanks for posting, mate.

  • I feel sorry for kids that didn't have chance to live fully in those magic years....Just look at these great melodic , optimistic , dreamy shots...It is video ,sure but there is still huge portion of ,,normality" in how everybody looks , which I miss so much today...So much of 50' and 60' themes like cars, fashion and so...

  • For some reason, Adam Curry and Richard Marx have become interchangeable in my memory. To be honest, I respect them both immensely. Curry's podcast, No Agenda, is fantastic, and although Marx's production hasn't dated so well, he is a killer, killer writer and these songs are so great. Time has been unfair to his talent.

  • who're the 2 guitar players in video ?

  • @deflepfollower micheal landau and ...? i'm sorry i can't remember exactly.....

  • I played guitar for Richard Marx from 1986 to 1993. During the making of this video the other guitarist, John Walmsley, (who had also played Jason in the Waltons) - while running up a ramp he slipped and ripped a knee cap off. He appears at times, but we had to finish the video without him.

  • @PaulWarrenProject Wow Sir , you help to create some great music and know some amazing musicians. I bow to you...

  • @PaulWarrenProject so were you the blonde or brown haired one

  • @PaulWarrenProject ... I remember hearing about that Walmsley mishap! So unfortunate. Years ago, I had a live Richard Marx VHS tape in which Walmsley was quite prominent.

Very cool that you played for Marx during the height of his success! I hope you're still enjoying some success as well!

  • me also, i want 80's comes again

  • what a fuck man adam lambert is not like richard marx. no one is like richard he is the best from all the world and he is also soooooooooooooooooo gorgeous. adam is bullshit.

  • i love richard marx sooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo much i am very huge fan of him what a talent.

  • Yeah . ! .! it's too late. DAMN Good Tune.

  • I have always loved Richard Marx from the start. He is my favorite singer of all time. One more singer I adore, and who could absolutely KILL (in a great way) any of Richard's songs is Adam Lambert!! Yes, you all read this right! If you know who he is and I'm sure many of you do, you know what I mean. Richard and Adam's vocals are amazing...

  • just 2222 late huni going 222222 bednow, C uxxxxxxx16

  • I love the concept of this video with it revisiting all of the prior music videos with brief cameo appearances.

  • Ich liebe seine rauhe Stimme einfach Genial

  • i especially adore the last bit of guitar work :) such an amazing song

  • Adam Lambert´s voice sounds quite like R. M.

  • @catss84

That's the best part of the song!!!

  • 80s WERE THE BEST!!!!!!!

  • @FrevrYng ...and 90s.........

  • toutes ses chansons sont super

  • Great Song!!

  • I was born in 82. I wish I had the chance to enjoy the 80's as a teenager.

  • @Ramoin True true brother . I was in 77 and that was still too late.....

  • Michael Landau is the King on guitars

  • @zoedeq i agree along with lukather and dann hufff! these guys nailed all the gigs in the 80's no question! cher, chicago, mike mcdonald, kenny loggins, micheal bolton, micheal jackson the list is endless!!

  • This song has so many things going for it, besides Richard's vocals: Awesome writing by Marx and Fee Waybill... the greatest guitar work by Mike Landau... superior film editing... just absolutely first-rate work all the way around! I love this video, man!!

  • for me,from around 86 until 92/93 was best time for making the best melodic music ever.......there was just something magical going on....

  • @checkie4ever from Tears to Fears "Everybody Wants to Rule the World" > Red Hot Chili Peppers "Under the Bridge" (Just my opinion when that era began and when it ended)

  • @checkie4ever Maybe has to do with the change of sustrate from magnetic to digital, the slavery to digital is a price tha we'll have to pay even in areas as memory and genomics, and, like a previwe of what awaits us, digital can be fantastic, but at the sametime, involves standarization and killing of creativity in some way.

  • @checkie4ever

I agree, artists sang about feelings and experiences from within and exclusive to themselves, instead of feeding the media.

  • @checkie4ever I couldn't agree more !! sadly the magic is gone, hopefully not for ever.

  • @checkie4ever I'm callin' it '84 (Boys of Summer) to about '92. Close enough!

  • @buffhomer i wanna say 81, tubes talk to you later., to 93 duran duran ordinary world.., you up for that? i like yours though but whos ur 92 you only gave an 84..?

  • so nice song love it a lot

  • 80's were the BEST!!

  • Dang guitar just kicks!! Dunno who's playing, but kudos.

  • If you're talking the lead with the short curly hair, that's Paul Warren. He's awesome.

  • SunnyDays951: The guitar player is Jon Walmsley, who played Jason Walton on the television series "The Waltons."

    Believe it or not. :-)

  • Man thanks for the info, I still think quite noteworthy!!!

  • I love this song, too. My favourite song by Marx.

  • Me too!!!!!

  • @SunnyDays951 it,s session master mike landau he,s played on albums by chicago, steve perry ,linda ronstadt, micheal bolton he has toured with james taylor mega talented.has released solo albums tales from the bulge.

  • That is true, MRTONEDEFF, Landau played on the album. But while Walmsley didn't play on the actual album version that accompanies the video, he is in the video, as he was a member of Marx's touring band.

  • i was just referring to the song not the video performance, with respect! you're right about walmsley i got the hold on to the nights concert on vhs walmsley is there with paul warren ,mike derosier and david koz on sax and keyboards.a fantastic gig with great singing and playing.plus fee waybill jumps on stage for remember manhattan also randy meisner and timothy b schmitt cameo on dont mean nothing, check it out!

  • Comment removed

  • is this from a movie? if not, i cant figure out why this song means somethin to me...i love it but i was born in 1990

  • WILTONDEPORTES: No, it's not from a movie; this video incorporates situations from many of Marx's previous videos' storylines, the concept being -- as he drives his Corvette down the highway -- he sees these "visions from the past," and he's also seeing them as they are now, and leaving them all behind......

...and "it's too late to say goodbye."

  • o i didnt mean the video. just the song reminds me of somethin.

  • the manager of the apt is Rizzo from M.A.S.H [the carpool guy]

The guitar player is Jason from The Waltons,,Jonboy's lil bro'

  • When you find someone you truely Love, it really is too late to say goodbye to them!

  • He is rocking the classic 80's haircut, every guy had that hair including me.Its another great song by Richard marx

  • most of us women-loved the hair! I had Nancy wilson's hair-before she did! (All I wanna do is make love to you-video). I still have it, perfected it after losing it all because of chemo. Be proud of whatever hair ya got! Rock on Joe!

  • this was always a favourite though not a big hit, record company decision i,m guessing.love mike landau,s guitar ,written by fee waybill and featuring tubes drummer prairie prince.guitar at fade is bruce gaitsch who is on la isla bonita by madonna.
