I would watch this every year on a taped VHS with frosty the snowman, disney christmas special, Merry Christmas Charlie Brown, PeeWee Hermans Christmas, etc. Nester would always make me cry though. sigh... good memories.

Simply the best Christmas movie ever!! The sound track, the story line, the moral story, and Roger Miller is superb. There is even some actual history in this in regard to the Roman Empire! I just love Nestor! Too bad the networks don't run this more often--guess it's too religious for some people.

Watching this movie as a child, or as an adult I still cry. Nester is just so precious and sweet. Probably one of the most touching Christmas movies, this one and...I can never remember then name since I don't see it played on TV as often. The one with the little shepard boy who became blind. You're lucky you got somebody to fix your tape! When my copy of another Rankin-Bass movie, 'The Story of The First Christmas Snow', broke (I was crying and crying), I had to buy another copy online... which was broken... so we had to return it and buy another one. Guess what happened recently to the working copy? It broke again. XD

that happen to me too i had almost every rankin/bass's christmas shows all on one tape. my manage to record at least two hours of it. i loved it. watch it even in the summer, then one day the tape would not play anymore. i cried and cried.
