Is it me, or is Sims 3 10x easier to build in? Granted this program allows you more creativity but, I don't want to spend 2 weeks on a house! I see why people don't think Second Life is a game! That video was overwhelming and I'm glad I saw how hard it was to build anything in the game. Good luck to you if you have the time and patience!

@RedressIntellect Building a house doesn't take two weeks, not even if you're making a mansion. Plus with sims 3, you don't have anything close to human contact, and the only real way to make custom content is to mod the game, not to mention you're limited to one world and three save files. Building in SL takes practice, but it's definitely better than settling for building on the sims 3.

Good tutorial in content. This noobie appreciates it. But the background music levels are too high. makes it hard to hear, especially the taller guys voice. Also, the resolution is too low. so it's hard to see the menus. Still a good movie.

As far as these comments. I've seen nothing but positivity in SL. Always great to come back to the regular net here in youtube to see the comments from all the people needing to express their negativity. Sigh.

There is actually no advantage or disadvantage to preferring a second life like this inside a virtual world. What's wrong with it? Nothing. In simplest terms, your health is in 3 sections:

Physical - If you eat right and get the daily amount of activity, second life is alright.

Social - If you have friends and socialize on second life, it's alright.

Emotional - If you have good emotional conditions, second life is fine.

Virtual over reality isn't bad. In some cases, it's better.

the game does offer money... That's what i'm messing around with. You can make stuff and sell it for in game cash. Then convert that to real money. The game has an amazing economy.

Enhance thy calm...I have spent COUNTLESS HOURS teaching Noobs and it is pretty much necessary for everyone. Here's the big problem, MOST people don't pay attention when you are TEXTING them In World. They are always distracted by some other conversation they are having with someone else while you are giving them your undivided attention.

People will help you,just not everybody. These folks are probably tired of teaching In World and made this vid to help.

Get good at SL and you will see.

You can get a premium account (paying membership) if you want to own land. You can rent space on someone else's land. You can still build things without owning land and having a premium membership (like by using a sandbox area) but if you build a house you'd have nowhere to put it. But you can build lots of other things (cars, plants, hair, shoes, guns, etc).

Great Building tutorial. I was once a noob at a MMORPG and I said I want to PvP! I got a scathing response. I could never get myself to have fun in those things cultivating your character and friendships was cool but that was it (so far as I saw) they never offered full creativity like SL.
