at 8:59 can't you still double up your rooks because now white's rook is occupying the b3 square that the white knight would need to kick your rook from a5?
When you traded off white squared bishops, why would you not use the F7 pawn to open up the rank for the Rook? I know your supposed to always trade "INTO" the board but i think this one was an exception
Possibly we briefly checked that out in post-mortem but both felt if White can withstand the f file pressure then e6 is weaker, and the endgames would be more favourable for White due to the potential for extra central pawns and control.
At 7:47 (hypothetical scenario), what if black plays Ng3? Would attack e2 and possibly set up long-term plans for kingside attack after b4. Probably wouldn't work, but a thought nonetheless.
great game! i don't suggest you experiment in a real game that matters though. you should probably experiment with a friend, because you don't want to end up losing!
I used to play the Slav but ditched it for the reason that weaker players could use a super solid system as White and get at least a draw against me. A few dull games too, put me off. Objectively I think it is a very good defence, but.... there you go.
Yeah but some of the variations are very exciting. i checked this particular e3 variation with a few GM games at the last Dresden Olympiad, and there are some things black can do to liven things up. I will try and share the ideas in a later video.
Thanks for the video Tryfon, enjoyed it. It would be nice if you could post the links to new projects in the description box to make finding it a little easier.
It's obviously april fools. If you go to the normal youtube-page and click on any video you'll notice it has &flip=1 behind the normal URL. Removing that will also cause the page to show up the normal way.
Also there is that box with Tips for viewing the new layout which is a nice touch ;)
When I first checked this video out all the texts were inverted and the video was upside down xD if that happened to anyone else that might be what Atlanttizz meant? ^^

Yeah but the Slav is meant to be quite solid, so maybe things shouldn't go too badley wrong.
