WTF has this got to do with football! any way if your team spends 150mill and cant win the european cup you should hang your head in shame chelsea.fuck chelsea and they're buddies rangers both ave never even came close to being champions of europe
@tony671 Allot of football teams play this song before a match, fans often sing allong to it and chant there teams name at :40 and every other time it does that ending to the melody
@tony671 You know so little is laughable. What you spend doesn't guarantee you winning a cup competition and if losing on penalty's is not getting close to winning the Champions League, then what is ?
I just worked my ass off to find this song. 30 minutes of research... only to find that Chelsea claims it. As a matter of fact, I just to happen to be wearing a Blue Fred Perry in honour of Chelsea BEATING BLACKBURN LAST WEEKEND!

I believe other teams have also used it for their anthem over the years, its a very popular tune as Skinheads have often also been Football Fans.
Not true. Ska had a big revival in the early 70s. I know because my younger brother played nothing but for 2 years, lol. I was listening to Led Zep, hehe.
This tune evokes such memories of a decade long since passed, Skins and Suede heads, Loafers, Tonics, prince of wales check, crombies, original stay press and Ben Shermans, Crombies, wearing it all down the funfair geezer....................
@TheJAstle68 You filthy unwashed fuck. Fuck off back to your slum and die. - Yes. Many great tunes of this type were played at the funfairs. I also recall (vividly) 'Come Into My Parlour' - The Bleechers and 'The Whip' - The Ethiopians (not surprisingly played almost continuously on the Whip ride). I must post those tunes up as well...

@wba1897 Chelsea got the Liquidator at the Bridge in 1968 - 1 year before the official chart release, & one year before Wolves adopted it in 1969. The reason was the DJ at the Bridge had strong connections with friends in Jamaica and Ska & Reggae was already thriving at Stamford Bridge in the late 60's. @runtinsweet Thanks for your message. I thought 'Liquidator' came out in Jamaica in '69..but you could be right, maybe it was '68 in JA and then '69 in the UK. I'd love to see that MOTD episode. I first went to the Bridge in '67 and was last there for the match against Man Utd in the Champions league a couple of weeks ago. Whenever they play 'Liquidator' there it still sends shivers down my spine. In fact I think they played it twice that night! Cheers, Dave.
brill piece of music-- from a glam--new romantic and rock fan-quality like this doesn't need to be pidgeon holed-it will stand up to any scrutiny but personally I think its Regaie

we were in antwerp for a school project, and we stayed the night with 6 guys, we went to bed at 4am and woke up to this song at exactly 0:27 cus a guy had that as a alarm... the six of use were laughing our assess off for the next hour haha :D
@housecarl6 It is classified as reggae although the stress beats on 2 & 4 are similar to ska. Ska was done for by 1966, this came out in 1969 and is loosely classified as "Boss reggae" a style prevalent in 1969 that had a fast beat. Note the lack of horns and upright bass which you find in ska.
@skajam66 I always called this style ska-reggae but you are making a lot of sense..ok a new one to me but Boss Reggae will do.Just a classic tune anyway.
@jenssalumae2 Prawn crackers? Like when we took 10000 to almost every away game in the 80's? get a grip u cunt. 5th all time average attendance and 50 yrs with no title = best loyal fans in England, MUG!
Love this tune. It was the first single I ever bought with my pocket money. I was 11 at the time and had just moved up to senior school. It cost me 42.5p (8s 6d in old money). I played it to death on the radigram at home : )<
This is a Chelsea song, don't even try claim any different.

Chelsea got the Liquidator at the Bridge in 1968 - 1 year before the official chart release, & one year before Wolves adopted it in 1969. The reason was the DJ at the Bridge had strong connections with friends in Jamaica and Ska & Reggae was already thriving at Stamford Bridge in the late 60's. There is even a MOTD episode from this period where you can hear the Stamford Bridge crowd roaring "Chelsea!" at the relevant places. Wolves got it early yes - only Chelsea got it first!

A lot of clubs play this now but most people know it as west broms anthem. I would also say its Ska and not reggae.
Got a feeling it was palyed at the Hawthorns before the "3 degrees" were there as well.

@skajam66 Very interesting

@skajam66 I always called this style ska-reggae but you are making a lot of sense..ok a new one to me but Boss Reggae will do.Just a classic tune anyway.

Love this tune. It was the first single I ever bought with my pocket money. I was 11 at the time and had just moved up to senior school. It cost me 42.5p (8s 6d in old money). I played it to death on the radigram at home : )<
