grab further down the silk (like put your right hand in the center of it), also start in a tighter slam, make sure you push down with your left hand, and release straight up with your right. Your left hand is what gives the flag its spin, the right controls the height.
It's bad to start someone off with teaching them tosses. xD
Also, one thing that helped me learn to really slap down my right hand, is just do the motion of your right hand, but let the butt smack against the ground. I know, it abuses the butt, but it helped to make really tight spins. :3
nice. let go too soon. its a 2 step proccess. push, then let go. lots of strength. and catch opposite from what it was when u started. 45 degree angle. and yea colorguard is harder then it looks. =P but im commited to do it
Haha it's funny how when ppl see me do flag saber and rifle and think they can do it when they can't it's comedy gold haha

how you catch it depends on the coach. ours always said to catch it vertically. we also had a set up that helped.
Dragoon11792 2 years ago
that depends. if ur doing a single or a single and a half. usually its like that unless told. usually u dont do other things unless told

....that's kinda what i said. i've seen other coaches teach it different too. it's always fun to compare though.
