Flip the hammer spring upside down. However if you dont do it just right, you'll have a "run away" gun. Meaning it wont stop firing until the entire mag is expended. Not recommended if your not familiar with the internals.

I thought the only way to legally own a fully automatic weapon is for it to be a registered machine gun made before '86, purchase the $200+ tax stamp, and go through an extensive background check with the local sheriff's office.

If this AR seems like an M4 type, so there's no way it could've been made before '86...so how is this legal?

@captainpatrik As long as the lower receiver is registered as a "machine gun" (pre-86) per NFA, you can put an M4 upper on it and still have it be perfectly legal. You can put every piece on an M16 lower that an M4 has, but it's still registered an "M16".

You are wrong. The NFA Machine gun registry was closed in 1986, so that means there is only a set number of machine guns out there that are transferable to civilians like you and me. A registered receiver M16 goes for atleast 16k-17k and you also must pay a $200 transfer tax to transfer on a Form 4.

The other way to make a m4 full auto is with a DIAS or LL (Drop in auto sear or lightning link) but this isn't much cheaper

Your local police chief must sign off on the Form 4 before the transfer.

No full-auto is legal if you live in the right state. You have to go through a deal with a class 3 FFL. Pay the dangerous firearm tax, pass a background check and it's all your. It's totally legal, welcome to the U.S.

It costs about $500 and a lot of time. Then something like $200 a year afterwards for each fully auto gun you own. I think you also must have a government spec gun safe. Some states may add on extra fees or whatnot, but most states that allow fully auto guns also do not add too many fees or restrictions over the federal ones.

Burst has a set amount of rounds fired, which is usualy 3 rounds. If you listen, you can hear how many rounds per trigger squeeze, and it isn't the same.
