Why does the UK even need its own version of Nickelodeon?

Couldn't they just use the American one? I mean, it's the same language...

I think it's to preserve their people's accents. They don't want them to start talking like Americans. xD

Even though we have close links with the US we still have varying cultures and a lot of things we do and say differently. Besides, I felt the UK of version stayed true to what Nick was about and actually went one step ahead with its NickAlive strand.

On Nickelodeon UK it was shown not that i'd watch it but i mostly watched Nicktoons in those days.
