Wouldn't it be great if somebody did a movie version of "Positively 4th Street", the David Harju book about the 1963-66 era as seen through the romantic relationships of Richard and Mimi and also of Dylan and Baez (it was also, in part, about how the "folk rock" genre emerged from the folk revival)? Very few people today would remember what Richard Farina was like as a person, and whoever played him, in particular, would almost certainly get an Oscar nom.
Thank you for posting such a wonderful video. I must say that it brings back many WONDERFUL memories from my youth (I am now 70 yrs old) and in many ways, it is sad that the youth of today don't have music that is enjoyable, and also music which relates to "life's situations" so to speak. We all have, and had, sorrows, problems, etc, etc, etc, but music somehow always seemed to help. Thank you!
Richard was my fathers cousin . His mum , Teresa Crozier came from Moortown in Co Tyrone in Northern Ireland . He could have been as big as Bob Dylan .
First heard them in 1967, the year after Richard died. Read his novel that year too. Owned all their albums on vinyl, now own them all on CD. Still one of my favorites after all these years.
Wow!! First time I see a live video of Richard and Mimi. The other day I was only wishing to see a video of them performing together and really didn't expect for my wish to come true so soon! Thank you very much for posting!
Thanks for posting this live video of the Farinas (and Mr. Seeger). A rare sight on youtube, it would seem. Leave it to you, Mark, to come up with one. Thanks! Terrific!

@stiffspiff And that makes it that much better, actually.
btw, did Ayn Rand approve of anything other than being a selfish, arrogant jerk?
