actually, mine were'nt eating at first.I brought some catfish sinking pellets but they just whizzed past ignoring them.(my cat fish were always doing laps of the tank although they dont now as they've settled in.They don't seem to eat anything at all but they are doing perfectly well so i suspect they eat leftover food,algae etc. Don't worry is my advice.
Thanks for info. on the catfish. I know how it is when your tank gets infested with snails. I bought some bulbs and grew the first plants I had in my set up. My tank worked fine for 8 months strait with no deaths, the I got some plant from Petmart and I got infested. After I cleaned the tank and trashed the plants My fish started to die, so I am growing more plants to put in the tank.
dont get new plants.If the fish are dying then it will be something else.A lack of plants dosent effect them except if they dont have any shelter at all.Get plastic plants(not silk,plastic looks more real)and use those as real plants need as much care as fish do and its harder work (arguable).
also after the cleanout you will have had nts which is why your fish started dying.You only get nts in a mature tank when in a cleanout all the filter and other bcteria die giving you the set up of a new tank.so just wait and it will get better.
My tank just finish the cycle and I do have plastic plants, but they get dirty fast with food and stuff and now I am changing the filter and water weekly But with the 10 plants that I grew before I change the filter once a month and changed the water every 2 months with no problems.
Great fish tank you got there 5 stars! What do the upside down fish eat cause I got one today and I didn't really see him eat went I put fish food.
