 in 2 minds between 900's an 2000's. the price is swaying me towards the 900's but need to know a few things before my mind is made up. If i'm using a laptop with rekordbox and a pair of 900's does the small screen on the 900's really matter that much?

Also using the same setup will I be able to set hotcues on rekordbox and use the set hotcues whilst playing on the 900's? I know there isn't a hotcue feature on the 900's but is there a way to do it when using rekordbox and the 900's?

@allways28 you can go onto rekordbox make your hot cues and there is a button called call you press that and it brings your hot cues in and there is also a memory button as well what you can press and it will bring up your hot cues as well

yes, totally agree Ryoga. Of course I'd love the 2000s, if I had that amount or more in cash. Then again, they take out the autolooping (which is actually quite good on the 900s). Kind of like the 800s vs 1000s. You'd just expect the 2000s to have everything, not a tradeoff. Also, in a lot of the videos I see, they have 3 or more 2000s set up (see the Roger Sanchez "Get 2gether" one). Definitely a lot of pre-programming before. They're also really pushing the rekordbox (no loop storing on 900s?)

@KushPizzaSleep You need a mixer, these are just players, and the focus on pioneer products has always been in simplicity so don't expect long menus with lots of stuff to change because there are not.

How on earth are these better than the 1000s if they don't have hot cues? What's the advantage? A screen and some autolooping that is more advanced than the 800s? Oh right, the slip mode. Yeah, I'll take autocues over those any day.

@habalicious27 There's the CDJ 2000 you know? that's why these are called CDJ 900 and not CDJ 1500 or something like that, anyway I have always found the CDJ products to be a little bit overpriced and the new focus on "preparing your mix" instead of improvisation and live performance is like going against the stuff that made the older series the best out there.

one question. i have cdj 400's right now and i remember reading somewere that if u plug in usbs and hard disks or ipodes whatever that the quality is not the same and u might get some glitches and cuts in the tracks and it might freez. is there still the same problem witht he cdj 900's cause i dont want my shit freezing in the middle of gigs.

@arabmaan support for external sources on the CDJ 900 is indeed improved over the CDJ 400's but as a CD player they are pretty slow, at least when compared to older cdj's I don't know about the CDJ 2000 tough as I haven't used them personally.

I used a couple last night and although the MIDI control is great (anyway there are a lot of turntables that do that nowadays) the CD player part was shit!!! the loading times were unbearable, I was thinking that my cds had something wrong, but I checked with CDRs and normal cds and the Delay was the same on both. Damn, for playing cds I would take the CDJ 1000 or the CDJ 800 over these ones any day, hope the 2000 is better, what the hell were they thinking? hope they correct this with firmware

The cdj900's are shit hot! Slip mode and the auto beat loop would produce unlimited results for my style of mixing! For me these are more beneficial features than anything found on the cdj2000
