Lived in the Oakland area first 23 years of my life. I have never heard of Cherryland and vaguely heard of Ashland. weird. I always thought I was in Far East oakland or san leandro or san lorenzo. It's funny how these small towns which probably didn't connect to Oakland or San Leandro 50-60 years ago are just considered apart of Oakland or Hayward.

On a side note i just on thursday night saw one of 4 NJ transit P40DC units bought from amtrak at newark heading up a rvl train. I really like their sound & hope i can get proper footage in the daylight before they switch to the ACE service.

Sycamore Grove is the cars' name. I took this train from SJC-SAC after taking 11 with Jim Gondran down. 2052 was being roadtested.

Thanks for posting the vid. Perhaps you could look into buying a new tripod, one dedicated to camcorders, with what's called a "fluid head". Check for one in a store. You'll see the difference!

That's the Lathrop Shuttle. The train shuffles doublestacks between Lathrop (near Stockton) and Oakland, and is typically very short. I've seen one that was only 2 cars long.

There's no "Surfliner" logo on the sides like the CaliCars have and the blue paint ends at the bottom edge of the roof line, so all there really is is a little bit of extra blue around the upper level windows... Thus it looks like a naked Surf car.
