Beautiful tank man! I love the powder blue tang in there.
What does your filtration consist of? am in the process of putting together a 65 gal sw fish only tank, and I am planning on using an overflow box to a sump with live rock and a skimmer, then using a canister filter to pump the water back to the display tank.
That's a hard question to answer, some people will say one inch of fish per 5 gallons, others will say one inch per 2 gallons, and others say one inch for one gallon.
For a 55 gallon tank, I would put about 35 inches of fish, and if each fish averages 4 inches, thats about 9 fish.
Dont critisize this guys tank, he can put whatever the hell he wants in it, and im sure he is aware of how big they get. shit dude, people are so stupid hah.
Great tank, congratulations for your effort. I'm in the process too of making my 90 gallon tank, fish only like yours, so don't pay attention to those idiots claiming that your tank is not nice, or it's not 100% fish only because of the presence of a starfish....
Most of them are ignorant assholes believing they are experts in marine biology..!!
No need to run a skimmer in a tank up to 95 gallons if you change the water every 30 days.!!
beautiful tank man! quick question. where did you get your rock and what type is it? I have a 55 gallon also but donot want live rock, but cant seem to find good safe rock.
@vijomyda You dont have to have either one of those but its not a bad idea to have a skimmer. I personally never use skimmers but expect to do water changes a bit more frequently
Wow this tank is spectacular. I'm going to be doing a 29 gallon saltwater fowlr setup of my own; hopefully I can make it really amazing like yours. Also, I really don't see why people would insult you and say bad things about your aquarium; what's wrong with it? I would just ignore anyone else; if you like your tank, keep it that way and don't listen to anyone else's criticism. One more thing: the false percula clown can also be called the ocellaris clown; I find it much easier to say.

hey i really like your tank!! It's probably the best fish only tank i've seen :) Can you please tell me the measurements of your tank because i want to get the same thing.
i need help keeping my ph down it shows red on the test kit after i knock tht down i can get my fish in there wht could i do i got the ph down drops aswell hopefully tht will work
Oh yea, and I heard some idiot on here talking about the how the bubbler is bad. The bubbler isn't necessarily bad, I mean the main "complaint" that i've heard about bubblers is that the bubbles can get lugged into one of the fish's gills but thAT CAN HAPPEN WITH ANY FISH THOUGH! I mean, it's a small minute risk but it doesn't mean it's going to kill all your fish.
Exactly, i mean ive never killed a fish because the airstone was blowing, that was just rediculous. People just read books and have no personal experience with tanks. Experience, and trial and error are key to having healthy tanks.
I see people talking a lot of shit about your tank but I think it looks great bro. I mean honestly, I think it looks very clean and algae free. Very nice! This is basically the setup that i'm going for when I get my tank. Oh, and about the tap water. Tap water doesn't harm fish unless it' not neutralized. It only harms corals and anemones. That's why we have RO/IO units.
Thanks man, I dont even see any effect in my reef tank at all and i use the same tap water, Very healthy Flower Pot coral ( 6 months) green button polyp, bubble coral, Clam, Mushrooms. All doing excellent.
No one is saying you CAN'T use tap water and grow coral. You can use rain water if you need too but the fact is the TDS content of tap water is what scares people. Sure, you can keep corals and what not but your levels might be a little different... or your algae growth might be different.. whatever the case, keep doing what you are going.
by the way, just to further bash your setup and the horrible "facts" that you have been giving out to all there other posters... you should NEVER use tap water and these tap water conditioning "drops" that you have been talking about are for noobs who keep 10 gallon Neon Tetra tanks. they are not intended at all to be used in a Saltwater Aquarium. I dont really have a personal problem with you man, i just wish you would stop spreading and advocating such useless and incorrect information... :(
Just so you know, i dont give out any advice to anyone that i have not had tremendous success with myself. If you feel that you have to have fancy reverse osmosis shit to run your tank or you have a better way to cycle a tank than by using ammonia drops "which is the most effective and fastest way" to cycle your aquarium then thats fine DO IT. I know what ive done for years with my tanks and have NEVER had an unhealthy aquarium.
Actually, uncured live rock is the best way to get your aquarium to cycle. Even then, you can cycle a tank with 100% dead/dry base rock and still have the levels cycle no problem. There are a lot of gimmicks and bullshit when it comes to this hobby.... and most of the "ways to cycle" are the biggest BS out there. Not trying to knock your style, but there is never a need to add synthetic NH.
I have used uncured rock to cycle my 30g reef and it is another good method i just personally believe the ammonia drops daily gave me a better cycle in the long run because i was able to add more fish at once with no death whatsoever because i had a strong cycle, With rock cycling you get a good cycle but you have to add fish very slowly so you dont disturb the cycle thats all im saying.
Like i say, ive used tap for years and years and i live in las vegas. Everyone has their own opinion and i respect that but i cant agrree that its always horrible because ive had 0 problems over the years with any of my tanks ya know. ?
Can't the loin fish kill those fish, I mean isn't he poisonous. And doesn't that blue powder tang fight with other fish since it's aggressive like that lion fish? and isn't 55 to small for some of those fishes? lol sorry about all the question but this challenges everything I just learn from saltwater fish
hey man i'm looking into niger triggers too and i'm about to upgrade my 29 gallon with a yellow tang but won't a trigger and tang be to big for a 55 gallon when they're fully grown how are yours doing
No a yellow tang and a niger trigger will do just fine in a 55 gallon aquarium. The tang and trigger in this video are doing well, i do not over feed so there is no rapid growth. Ill eventually move to a 100 gallon.
I think its lace rock with a few other types of rock. None of it is live i bought it all dry at an aquarium store. This tank is pretty easy to keep up just control over feeding and do your water changes. Reef tanks are easy as well just make sure you have excellent lighting and flow plus 0 levels of ammonia nitrate nitrite and youre good. And Live rock. I have a 30g reef im going to post up here soon
its really a shame that you used that kind of rock. your tank looks like a freshwater angelfish tank with saltwater fish. sorry but it just defeats the purpose of having a saltwater aquarium. but i do have to say your fish look nice.
Every tank saltwater tank does not have to be a reef style tank. You can set up a saltwater tank however you want to. I highly disagree that this looks like an angelfish tank, i set it up like this because it is unique. Where is the shame with that?
I think your doing a good job, fish look healthy. How often and what do you feed them, because you don't seem to have an algae problem(skimmer?). Also, you must be really lucky, you kept 2 starfish and a shrimp with the lunare wrasse. Mine nips at everything.
I feed brine shrimp about 2-3 times per week, i also have about fifty hermit crabs to help control debris in the tank. No Skimmer. My starfish are way too big for the wrasse to pick at and the coral banded mainly comes out at night.
-do you have any idea how bad air bubbles are for a saltwater tank? i cant wait for you to have an algae bloom
-
Nigerian Triggers can get up to 2 feet in the wild so yes he will surly out grow your 55, that powder blue wont live in there long either (he has no algae to pick at and all your feeding is brine shrimp)
there is just to much you are doing wrong. makes me sad to see that you dont really get into saltwater, and clearly have no clue what you are doing.
Hey Shut the fuck up dont comment on my fucking page again youre a fucking moron, algae bloom right??? Yea post a video of your tank how bout that? youre a fucking moron. Everyone knows that adding pure ammonia is the fastest way to cycle a tank, and what the fuck is a Nigerian Trigger??? Youre a fucking amateur its a NIGER trigger this guy doesnt even know the fish dont listen to this idiot please. Dont come on here acting like you know shit okay.
oh dear... what do you think Niger is short for? perhaps you should think and do your research before you talk... the "Niger Trigger" or Nigerian Triggerfish is from the Indo-Pacific basin near NIGERIA! i honestly havent ever seen someone who gives worse information out, than you my friend. And in case you are new to youtube, if you would have clicked on my name you would see that i have posted three videos of my new tank in the last month. you honestly have no clue what you are talking about.
Actually they come from the indian ocean which boarders the eastern coast of Africa, No where near Nigeria, sorry man looks like your little fish book is a little inaccurate. Come on man, from the shit you say i dont even think thats your tank in that video you posted, you sound like youre a beginner reading from a how to book.
Hey man, I also live in Vegas. Quick question, some of those rocks dont look as though they are store bought. Were they perhaps gathered from the desert?
I know plenty of people on here will reply to this saying that i am stupid and wrong but i ONLY use tap water plus drops from a water conditioner from basic water conditioner you can buy from petco and i have NEVER had any problems over the years doing so. Even in my reef tank which i will post soon. I dont know where you live but im in las vegas.
no shit man! That's exactly what I was looking for. I am going to now set up a 72g fish only saltwater tank and that was basically the dividing line as to if I should do it or not. Now, regarding the filtration do you ever use any phosphate remover and how about a protein skimmer. A canister would seem to be the easiest route but would it do as good a job as a protein skimmer? Thanks man
No i have never needed a phosphate remover i used a skimmer for a little while on this tank but you do not need it if you have a good canister. I am using only a fluval 304 on this tank and i maintain 0 nitrite, 0 ammonia, 0 nitrate and perfect ph balance. I would never reccomend you any method that i have not tried myself and had success with.
So u only use a cansiter filter for a fish only tank right? can I use a biowheel 200 and a aqua clear 10 filter to make a only fish reef tank is that fine?
I have a canister but ive also had a sump in the past you can use whatever as long as it enough for the size of your tank, I dont know what you mean by a only fish reef tank is it fish only or reef? Im using a hang on marineland for my 30g reef up for about 6 months now doing great.
With that much live rock, i would assume your cycle has already begun. add 3 to 5 drops of pure ammonia daily and test your water until the ammonia and nitrite read zero. It shouldnt take long at all.
Starfish are easy, onlyy problem is that sometimes they just dont do well regardless of your water paramiters or feeding, other times they do well u just basically get lucky or you dont. No qt and ive never had problems with the cowfish, even when he gets spun around by the snowwflake eel which is pretty funny.
I have one coming up in the next couple days i just moved in to my new place not too long ago and ive re done the whole tank. ima put a vid up soon here.
I want to put a star fish in my tank with my snowflake eel. he is just 2 foot long i have a 2" banded goobie in the tank w no problems and he looks like he can fit in the eels mouth..he did pick off a clown fish but i think he was to slow n got caught.
since your just starting a marine tank i would do very easy and inexpensive fish. im just starting to. i would start out with damsels to cycle the tank. and if you dont like them take them back to the store, or keep em. i have a royal gramma good/easy fish to keep(and pretty) 2 false perculas, 1 banggai cardinal, a sixline wrasse (one of my favorites) and eventually i will get a coral beauty angel. keep about 3 to4 inches of fish per 10 gallons. get at least 55 gal tank. smaller isHARDERtokeep
There's no need to put a damsel at risk to cycle your tank. Just throw a piece of dead shrimp from the deli in the tank until it falls apart. The amount of ammonia in that combined with your live rock cycles it just fine.
I have a 36 gallon bowfront. What fish would you recommend I start off with...prob Damsels? I want to end with clownfish, preferably percula and sebay. What saltwater fish would be compatible if I'd like to add different ones down the road? Also, would (blue damsels, or any for that matter) be fine with these clown fish I specified?
Yea damsels are fine with clownfish, you will have no problems, I use damsels for the first week of starting a tank just to make sure my water paramiters are perfect without taking the risk of killing off more expensive fish. Other fish that would be good for your setup would be Tangs, butterflies, triggers, angels, etc. would be fine, my clown does well with my lion and my eel only because he is fairly large in size. Any smaller and he would be killed.
Look man dont comment shit on my page ive been doing this for fifteen years, i do not need your advice, all of these fish at a smaller size do just fine in smaller tanks, i say that from experience.
15 YEARS! OMG and you dont kow any better? I cant believe you still dont know NOT to put a TANG in such a small tank. Thats scary! Well you obviously dont care about the health and overall well being of your fish or any animal you must own.
what the hell dude! just because a fish gets large doesnt mean it needs a big tank when its still small. thats just like saying you cant put a small arowana in a 100 gallon tank because it will EVENTUALLY get too big for the tank. you apparently havent ever heard of a growout tank before.
a tang, lionfish and trigger all in the same 55g tank? Yea im sure its a "growout" tank. Wow your even worse I really hope you do not house any animals of any kind
The fish in this tank are fed once every two days, i do not over feed do to the fact that the fish will create alot of waste causing higher levels of nitrite/nitrate in the water. I also do this to prevent rapid groth, the fish in this tank will not out grow this tank for at least 2-3 years or more for some. I say this from EXPERIENCE
exactly, people act stupid by the time these fish get that big, im sure ill be on my second or even third larger tank. They are not that fast of growers
Hi, What type of substrate and filters do you use, how often do you change your water?

If not, speek to the fish shop and see what they say
hope he lives.

has the snowflake eel attacked any of the animals living in that tank before?

do i have tokeep filter off for tht?

i need help keeping my ph down it shows red on the test kit after i knock tht down i can get my fish in there wht could i do i got the ph down drops aswell hopefully tht will work
pelotera19 2 years ago
Oh yea, and I heard some idiot on here talking about the how the bubbler is bad. The bubbler isn't necessarily bad, I mean the main "complaint" that i've heard about bubblers is that the bubbles can get lugged into one of the fish's gills but thAT CAN HAPPEN WITH ANY FISH THOUGH! I mean, it's a small minute risk but it doesn't mean it's going to kill all your fish.
shechshire 2 years ago
Exactly, i mean ive never killed a fish because the airstone was blowing, that was just rediculous. People just read books and have no personal experience with tanks. Experience, and trial and error are key to having healthy tanks.
sblack91 2 years ago
Cool tank are any of your tangs reef safe?
TheFishMan101 2 years ago
I see people talking a lot of shit about your tank but I think it looks great bro. I mean honestly, I think it looks very clean and algae free. Very nice! This is basically the setup that i'm going for when I get my tank. Oh, and about the tap water. Tap water doesn't harm fish unless it' not neutralized. It only harms corals and anemones. That's why we have RO/IO units.
shechshire 2 years ago
Thanks man, I dont even see any effect in my reef tank at all and i use the same tap water, Very healthy Flower Pot coral ( 6 months) green button polyp, bubble coral, Clam, Mushrooms. All doing excellent.
sblack91 2 years ago
No one is saying you CAN'T use tap water and grow coral. You can use rain water if you need too but the fact is the TDS content of tap water is what scares people. Sure, you can keep corals and what not but your levels might be a little different... or your algae growth might be different.. whatever the case, keep doing what you are going.
kraylen 2 years ago
by the way, just to further bash your setup and the horrible "facts" that you have been giving out to all there other posters... you should NEVER use tap water and these tap water conditioning "drops" that you have been talking about are for noobs who keep 10 gallon Neon Tetra tanks. they are not intended at all to be used in a Saltwater Aquarium. I dont really have a personal problem with you man, i just wish you would stop spreading and advocating such useless and incorrect information... :(
spencerwalford 2 years ago
Just so you know, i dont give out any advice to anyone that i have not had tremendous success with myself. If you feel that you have to have fancy reverse osmosis shit to run your tank or you have a better way to cycle a tank than by using ammonia drops "which is the most effective and fastest way" to cycle your aquarium then thats fine DO IT. I know what ive done for years with my tanks and have NEVER had an unhealthy aquarium.
sblack91 2 years ago
Actually, uncured live rock is the best way to get your aquarium to cycle. Even then, you can cycle a tank with 100% dead/dry base rock and still have the levels cycle no problem. There are a lot of gimmicks and bullshit when it comes to this hobby.... and most of the "ways to cycle" are the biggest BS out there. Not trying to knock your style, but there is never a need to add synthetic NH.
kraylen 2 years ago
I have used uncured rock to cycle my 30g reef and it is another good method i just personally believe the ammonia drops daily gave me a better cycle in the long run because i was able to add more fish at once with no death whatsoever because i had a strong cycle, With rock cycling you get a good cycle but you have to add fish very slowly so you dont disturb the cycle thats all im saying.
sblack91 2 years ago
Yeah tap water is horrible.
kraylen 2 years ago
Like i say, ive used tap for years and years and i live in las vegas. Everyone has their own opinion and i respect that but i cant agrree that its always horrible because ive had 0 problems over the years with any of my tanks ya know. ?
sblack91 2 years ago
Do you think an emperor angel fish will fit in their?
shechshire 2 years ago
Can't the loin fish kill those fish, I mean isn't he poisonous. And doesn't that blue powder tang fight with other fish since it's aggressive like that lion fish? and isn't 55 to small for some of those fishes? lol sorry about all the question but this challenges everything I just learn from saltwater fish
shechshire 2 years ago
hey man i'm looking into niger triggers too and i'm about to upgrade my 29 gallon with a yellow tang but won't a trigger and tang be to big for a 55 gallon when they're fully grown how are yours doing
samuelwaynefoleyjr 2 years ago
No a yellow tang and a niger trigger will do just fine in a 55 gallon aquarium. The tang and trigger in this video are doing well, i do not over feed so there is no rapid growth. Ill eventually move to a 100 gallon.
sblack91 2 years ago
hey, iam considering switching to a fish only tank. what kind of rock is it?
is it eaiser than a reef tank?
thanks.
blindmonkey732 2 years ago
I think its lace rock with a few other types of rock. None of it is live i bought it all dry at an aquarium store. This tank is pretty easy to keep up just control over feeding and do your water changes. Reef tanks are easy as well just make sure you have excellent lighting and flow plus 0 levels of ammonia nitrate nitrite and youre good. And Live rock. I have a 30g reef im going to post up here soon

its really a shame that you used that kind of rock. your tank looks like a freshwater angelfish tank with saltwater fish. sorry but it just defeats the purpose of having a saltwater aquarium. but i do have to say your fish look nice.
spencerwalford 2 years ago
Every tank saltwater tank does not have to be a reef style tank. You can set up a saltwater tank however you want to. I highly disagree that this looks like an angelfish tank, i set it up like this because it is unique. Where is the shame with that?
sblack91 2 years ago
your tang and your cowfish are badass
rcs202 2 years ago
I think your doing a good job, fish look healthy. How often and what do you feed them, because you don't seem to have an algae problem(skimmer?). Also, you must be really lucky, you kept 2 starfish and a shrimp with the lunare wrasse. Mine nips at everything.
alanmaxx 2 years ago
I feed brine shrimp about 2-3 times per week, i also have about fifty hermit crabs to help control debris in the tank. No Skimmer. My starfish are way too big for the wrasse to pick at and the coral banded mainly comes out at night.
sblack91 2 years ago
-you are under feeding your fish
-do you have any idea how bad air bubbles are for a saltwater tank? i cant wait for you to have an algae bloom
-
Nigerian Triggers can get up to 2 feet in the wild so yes he will surly out grow your 55, that powder blue wont live in there long either (he has no algae to pick at and all your feeding is brine shrimp)
there is just to much you are doing wrong. makes me sad to see that you dont really get into saltwater, and clearly have no clue what you are doing.
spencerwalford 2 years ago
Hey Shut the fuck up dont comment on my fucking page again youre a fucking moron, algae bloom right??? Yea post a video of your tank how bout that? youre a fucking moron. Everyone knows that adding pure ammonia is the fastest way to cycle a tank, and what the fuck is a Nigerian Trigger??? Youre a fucking amateur its a NIGER trigger this guy doesnt even know the fish dont listen to this idiot please. Dont come on here acting like you know shit okay.
sblack91 2 years ago
oh dear... what do you think Niger is short for? perhaps you should think and do your research before you talk... the "Niger Trigger" or Nigerian Triggerfish is from the Indo-Pacific basin near NIGERIA! i honestly havent ever seen someone who gives worse information out, than you my friend. And in case you are new to youtube, if you would have clicked on my name you would see that i have posted three videos of my new tank in the last month. you honestly have no clue what you are talking about.
spencerwalford 2 years ago
Actually they come from the indian ocean which boarders the eastern coast of Africa, No where near Nigeria, sorry man looks like your little fish book is a little inaccurate. Come on man, from the shit you say i dont even think thats your tank in that video you posted, you sound like youre a beginner reading from a how to book.

sblack91 2 years ago
Important question, could I get away with using tap water vs ro for a fish only tank. Thanks
TheOneAndOnlyProdigy 2 years ago
I know plenty of people on here will reply to this saying that i am stupid and wrong but i ONLY use tap water plus drops from a water conditioner from basic water conditioner you can buy from petco and i have NEVER had any problems over the years doing so. Even in my reef tank which i will post soon. I dont know where you live but im in las vegas.
sblack91 2 years ago
no shit man! Thanks man
TheOneAndOnlyProdigy 2 years ago
No i have never needed a phosphate remover i used a skimmer for a little while on this tank but you do not need it if you have a good canister. I am using only a fluval 304 on this tank and i maintain 0 nitrite, 0 ammonia, 0 nitrate and perfect ph balance. I would never reccomend you any method that i have not tried myself and had success with.
sblack91 2 years ago
Thanks for the help.

a fish only reef tank is with fish and live rocks plus fake corals and fake plants that is a fish only reef tank?
tvshowuploader3 2 years ago
So u only use a cansiter filter for a fish only tank right? can I use a biowheel 200 and a aqua clear 10 filter to make a only fish reef tank is that fine?
tvshowuploader3 2 years ago
I have a canister but ive also had a sump in the past you can use whatever as long as it enough for the size of your tank, I dont know what you mean by a only fish reef tank is it fish only or reef? Im using a hang on marineland for my 30g reef up for about 6 months now doing great.
sblack91 2 years ago
High, i got a 55 as well and i was thinking how long would it take for it to cycle with 65 pounds of live rock.
i've had for 2 weeks now.i have heard that sea weed can help with the ammonia and so on
bansheebastered 2 years ago
With that much live rock, i would assume your cycle has already begun. add 3 to 5 drops of pure ammonia daily and test your water until the ammonia and nitrite read zero. It shouldnt take long at all.
sblack91 2 years ago
dont add synthetic ammonia drops... just wait until you have your bloom and your levels spike then drop. not such good advise..

how much did the whole thing cost?
moatts2 2 years ago
Maybe around $800 without the fish.
sblack91 2 years ago
do u recommend star fish? And do you QT? And have you had trouble with your cowfish?
TheZambeziBite 2 years ago
Starfish are easy, onlyy problem is that sometimes they just dont do well regardless of your water paramiters or feeding, other times they do well u just basically get lucky or you dont. No qt and ive never had problems with the cowfish, even when he gets spun around by the snowwflake eel which is pretty funny.
sblack91 2 years ago
yo black, when you going to post a update of your tank?
dawgpond1 2 years ago
I have one coming up in the next couple days i just moved in to my new place not too long ago and ive re done the whole tank. ima put a vid up soon here.

What kind of filter are you using because im thinkin about starting a saltwater tank?
d14money 2 years ago
This tank runs on a fluval 304, it is the most effective filter i believe and it is very easy to maintain as well.
sblack91 2 years ago
you have to buy more live rock
casino007007 2 years ago
I avoid the live rock to prevent algae growth, i use bacteria supplement when needed. This is a very mature tank and has all the bacteria it needs.
sblack91 2 years ago
how hard is it to take care of the linckia star fish??????

Im planning to start a marine. What can i start with, Im thinking damsels, clowns a yello tang and a flame angel. Any one help?
keegee1012 3 years ago
blue damsels
TheOneAndOnlyProdigy 3 years ago
since your just starting a marine tank i would do very easy and inexpensive fish. im just starting to. i would start out with damsels to cycle the tank. and if you dont like them take them back to the store, or keep em. i have a royal gramma good/easy fish to keep(and pretty) 2 false perculas, 1 banggai cardinal, a sixline wrasse (one of my favorites) and eventually i will get a coral beauty angel. keep about 3 to4 inches of fish per 10 gallons. get at least 55 gal tank. smaller isHARDERtokeep
yourmomisbeastin 2 years ago
There's no need to put a damsel at risk to cycle your tank. Just throw a piece of dead shrimp from the deli in the tank until it falls apart. The amount of ammonia in that combined with your live rock cycles it just fine.
SupaMetalYo 2 years ago
True or a better way is to use pure ammonia drops until the cycle is complete.
sblack91 2 years ago
yo post a updated vid son

sblack91 2 years ago
Who lives in a pineapple under the sea...Spongebob Squarepants!! :)
TheOneAndOnlyProdigy 3 years ago
I have a 36 gallon bowfront. What fish would you recommend I start off with...prob Damsels? I want to end with clownfish, preferably percula and sebay. What saltwater fish would be compatible if I'd like to add different ones down the road? Also, would (blue damsels, or any for that matter) be fine with these clown fish I specified?
TheOneAndOnlyProdigy 3 years ago
Yea damsels are fine with clownfish, you will have no problems, I use damsels for the first week of starting a tank just to make sure my water paramiters are perfect without taking the risk of killing off more expensive fish. Other fish that would be good for your setup would be Tangs, butterflies, triggers, angels, etc. would be fine, my clown does well with my lion and my eel only because he is fairly large in size. Any smaller and he would be killed.
sblack91 3 years ago
NONE of those fish mentioned can go in a 30 gallon tank. DO YOUR RESEARCH!!!!
dsm4G63 2 years ago
Look man dont comment shit on my page ive been doing this for fifteen years, i do not need your advice, all of these fish at a smaller size do just fine in smaller tanks, i say that from experience.
sblack91 2 years ago
15 YEARS! OMG and you dont kow any better? I cant believe you still dont know NOT to put a TANG in such a small tank. Thats scary! Well you obviously dont care about the health and overall well being of your fish or any animal you must own.
dsm4G63 2 years ago
OMG your obviously just trying to be a asshole, doing your "research" and just ratting on this guy because your just bored.
aaron95 2 years ago
what the hell dude! just because a fish gets large doesnt mean it needs a big tank when its still small. thats just like saying you cant put a small arowana in a 100 gallon tank because it will EVENTUALLY get too big for the tank. you apparently havent ever heard of a growout tank before.
kx250f23 2 years ago
a tang, lionfish and trigger all in the same 55g tank? Yea im sure its a "growout" tank. Wow your even worse I really hope you do not house any animals of any kind
dsm4G63 2 years ago
how am i worse??? who ever said anything about a lionfish and a trigger fish?
kx250f23 2 years ago
Those are some of the fish in the tank
dsm4G63 2 years ago
i know that, but the conversation was about a tang.
oh well, it really doesnt matter, all i was trying to say is that a 55g is fine as a growout tank for a tang or just about any other fish.
kx250f23 2 years ago
The fish in this tank are fed once every two days, i do not over feed do to the fact that the fish will create alot of waste causing higher levels of nitrite/nitrate in the water. I also do this to prevent rapid groth, the fish in this tank will not out grow this tank for at least 2-3 years or more for some. I say this from EXPERIENCE
sblack91 2 years ago
exactly, people act stupid by the time these fish get that big, im sure ill be on my second or even third larger tank. They are not that fast of growers
sblack91 2 years ago
is it possibe to change to salt water after have freshwater fish in my tank and would i have to drain the water and start all over?

will a lion mess with the clown????

Usually most defineltely a lion will eat a clown, you have to make sure you ger a decent sized clown that is too large for the lion to eat.
