I saw the original trilogy and i'm not fan of the remakes.

Usually they can't reach the originals. Just like "Insomnia" or the Japanise thrillers like "The ring".

Holywood is still too light for this kind of cinema.

Even "Silence of the lambs" or "Seven" are a bit childish in front of Dragon Tatoo.

Better stay to splaters like "SAW 1-2-3-...-25.

@stokos2005 I agree with you i saw the original the only problem i had them that in the 2nd one the story gets a little choppy. this is david fincher tho he made the game and seven both great movies and dark. i have total faith that this move will be good now will it do good in the box office i doubt it

as far as I'm aware they're being remade because the original were untrue to the books (something I've heard, don't take me up on it). Also, to say this doesn't look dark is a very untrue statement. Everything down to the soundtrack is dark. If you are unaware of Reznor, listen to NIN. Disturbing brilliance at it's finest. I wait in anticipation :)

@JamesCmuse of course it's not being remade "because the original [was] untrue to the books. it's a Swedish trilogy made into a Swedish trilogy of films, two of them very good. it is being remade because Hollywood thought they could make some money off it, quite simply.

that said, the original has its perks, as does the remake. i think they're both good films.

@evygaspar my apologies, I know it's not a remake, just another on screen adaptation.. I saw the first original movie and I am quite impressed actually, i'm falling in love with this series! Although I've heard Hollywood plan to change the second books story to include Lisbeth a lot more, which could make or break.. I'm not sure that sounds too appealing but I can't wait for it to come out so I can watch and give verdict! I hope Reznor is on soundtrack and Fincher is directing again :)
