  • Zakk Wylde absolutely owned this performance

  • Who Wrote this song??

  • @jaxflfreebird Then why do you own several copies of this show if you think it's crap? Michaels, Keifer and Wylde are awesome in this!

  • This is GOD FREAKING AWFUL. I own a couple of copies of this show, dvd and cdr. I NEVER watch or listen to this CRAP. I've never even listened to this audio and I've never watched but just a little of the video. The Special guests were anything but SPECIAL. The guests SUCKED.

  • Zakk should have stuck with his Pride&Glory style.

  • @bughead3 With the Book of Shadows and Music for Hangovers, he said he WILL mellow down easy once he gets older, he plays what he's in the mood for, and that could change still

  • I had this recorded from the ppv. First I actually saw Zakk other than in the Ozzy videos. Awesome, awesome, awesome.

  • @qbee817 It's the first time most of us heard him sing, and our jaws dropped!!

  • I had this on tape til my ex recorded over it! I could have killed him. Thanks for this. It was really the 1st time I had seen Zakk by himself and I was like "who is the guy, he's the whole package (gorgeous and one hell of a talent).

  • I'm right with you. Somebody should have snatched that harmonica away from him, better yet, him off the stage.

  • Brett Michaels does not belong on the stage with Zakk, Peter, Charlie, Johnny, Travis or Tom. Fuck em! He is a joke. Tell him I said so.

  • sure wish more of this was up..its great man..

  • @ltuomela They only did one song acoustically, from everyone who was part of the FRYNDS roster, but I hope to include it all, Initially, I was worried it would not be allowed to stay up, one segment already came down, that of Tom Kiefer of Cinderella who noted and disapproved of my clip featuring him, however, I'd tell him I am a fan and I think people should see his song

  • @MetallicBill yea i hear ya...greed...sux but whatcha gonna do ya know..thanks for this part anyways..

  • brett micheals is such a fuck. why couldnt he have died from that aneurysm.

  • @balls86ful That has no merit, dude, and I don't wish death on anyone, just sense

  • @MetallicBill i dont give a fuck about merit, and i do wish death on an asshole like brett micheals. its the difference between you and me (among others im sure), but still your opinion is your opinion and mine is mine.

  • @balls86ful Normally I am within my rights to remove objectionable comments, I'm saying, what did he do that's so wrong to you? I like some Poison songs, God's honest truth, and I think he's a good person, not the image, the person.

  • Sing it ZAKK !!!!!

  • holy shit how many of my musical heroes can they fit on one stage?

  • lol at:25 brett is singing and his mic isnt on

  • Comin' Home was released on Gold and Platinum, after the plane crash.

  • what album on was this song released?

  • @ghettochef original one? I just enjoyed the concert, not a history expert about the songs or artists, but I plan to upload more, I can now go over 10 minutes, and have yet to explore that end of YT!

  • why is zakk wearing a union cavarly hat? that hat should have been grey

  • @jeffisstoned Oh, he used a few things just after leaving Ozzy, now he sports other accessories but he's still the Zakk we love! haha

  • @MetallicBill regardless of what southern style he may play, he is and will always be a yankee. Hes from New Jersey or something like that. Still my fucking hero I don't care where hes from or what the hell hes wearing.

  • @650MonkeyButt Yeah, there is no North and South battle goin' on. We Northerners appreciate Southern Rock. I was always keen on Molly Hatchet over Skynyrd, for example. They hate each other...so there ya go. Zakk is from NJ!

  • Because the South was wrong and was righteously defeated.

  • @JonWRowe The South was wrong? I guess that you think that the North was fighting to END slavery. Tell that to the last state to abandon slavery, Union state New Jersey. Tell that to Lincoln who only "freed" the slaves in Southern territories WHILE RETAINING THE SLAVES IN UNION CONTROLLED AREAS (yes, that's in the Emancipation Proclomation). Maybe someone should tell Horace Greeley, the man that Lincoln wrote, saying "If I could save the Union without freeing any slave I would do it," Google it.

  • @JonWRowe ... OR tell that to the hundreds of slaves who drowned at Ebenezer Creek in Georgia when Sherman's troops left them stranded at the river while the army was allowed to cross. Lastly, someone should tell William Ellison, one of the wealthiest "business men" in South Carolina. It should be noted that William Ellison was also a FREED BLACK MAN AS WELL AS A SLAVE OWNER who supported the Confederate cause. One of his sons fought in the war, and Ellison's estate later became worthless.

  • @ganu29 There's no need to do battle within the USA, we have larger foes elsewhere, Brothers and Sisters. Lets wipe out the Commies! haha OK, back to Music, eh??

  • oh shit oO just rock gods in this stage !!

i would love to watched this live

  • zakk is god :D

    and lynyrd is great

  • did you seee this show>???

  • @5henangn I taped it on it's second airing, so it's about as live as it gets! It was only once LIVE then a repeat broadcast (called Encore)

  • loved it!!

  • @loadout66 Thanks, don't recall the last reply or see it here, it was in my In Box. I recall it as well, hearing him sing was damn impressive, given he never sang with Ozzy, but they did do the Changes live in the Osbourne video, that was cool enuff. I believe due to the time and size restrictions, I held off on the closing Free Bird, but now with HD supported video standards, I'll have a go at some more of the uploads from it

  • all I've watched is the introductions and I've already favorited this

  • WTF!!!!!!!!!! HOLY SHIT!!!!!!!!!! Yes this is so fucking epic!!! All those guys together, hells ya!

  • I'm a huge fan of Zakk Wylde and Southern Rock so this was really cool to see!

  • Blondes.

  • @MrHeavysteel ...wigs! FTW. I'm not blonde, but you know what Rod Stewert says

  • @MetallicBill I just wrote that for a joke. Bret Michaels is a decent piece of blonde.

  • lmao, Look at Zakk's biceps in this video, then search for "order of the bass 2" in the search bar, first video, and skip ahead to the part where Zakk's on the Piano, and look at his arms now. HOLY SHIT! no homo, I'm just sayin....DAMN!!!!!!!!!!!

  • i wish the sound was better...and the entire show would be avaliable.

    SSoooo sweet!!

  • @JahElad The problem is audio taken during analog to digital is iffy when done as it's not something one can get a feel for until the clip is made, so it could have been recorded with a higher output, yes. I just saved myself the trouble and advise viewers a good speaker amp on their end!

  • @MetallicBill ...hey bro, you are correct. i threw on some Bose headphones and it sounded great. Thanx for your reply/advise!

    peace

  • @JahElad Well, I do employ headsets on my laptops from time to time! Sony V6 for me!

  • damn dude, how did I miss this?. where's the rest of the song? that was fucking sweet.

  • @plantguy666 Most of the show I uploaded, not all, but most of it, and luckily only the Tom Keifer of Cinderella portion was I required to take down!

  • Zakk sounds like he definitely has some southern roots, great vocals.

  • @bluedaddy23 Certainly, IIRC, he mentioned his brother or sibling?? Had a big fix on the Allman Bros. That was his early exposure, not Skynyrd to begin with

  • damn!!! he wass sooo handsome!

  • buffff I love zakk with this long long blonde hair!!!! he's like an elf!!! (L)

  • Ah MAN! I remember buying this on PPV that night. Was a real treat when all those guys opened the show.

  • @sargegd1 Damn straight, I was dismayed with music at that time as well, mid 90s it all went down the Tube, not YouTube of course! haha

  • @sargegd1 It was a rare occasion of TV being worth paying for, as was the Pink Floyd Pulse, people forget that was a PPV exclusive for some time!

  • ARE THERE ANY MORE CLIPS FROM THIS? I've never seen it before and looks amazing!

  • @vettels6 Of the main set, Yeah. Not with Zakk however, sorry

  • @vettels6 I had all the acoustic stuff accounted for, but Tom Kiefer called rights on his segment and it was taken down automaticaly

  • I broke out Book of Shadows again, DAMN brilliant, and I wish Zakk would listen closely to how well crafted those songs are, we know he can be consistant based on BOS and P&G

  • Awesome! But guys, what is the difference between Les Paul Gibson and Epiphone guitars? The Epiphone is cheaper, but is it something else? ;)

  • @doomcrewsatan666 USA crafted, original. The other series that are most common, and cheap are built in Korea or Japan, or China. The cost of wages and production is much cheaper, and guitars are assembly line versus hand crafted by artisans

  • @MetallicBill Ok, that really helped me understand! Thank you for answer! ^^

  • @doomcrewsatan666 The modern era even USA shops use CNC milling, but they finish the guitar carving by hand, at least BC RICH do, and I suspect most others to cut time down on each guitar made

  • @MetallicBill Yeah Bill Gibson does a lot by hand. They even shape the necks by hand, spray the finish by hand and buff by hand. The Epi's are "assembly line" fiddles - so to speak. There is a Gibso factory tour and other things on here that show alot of how Gibson makes their fiddles. It's amazing to watch and you learn real quick why a Gibson cost $2k plus! But then again, Gibson's value go up over time too!

  • @Trendkiller67 I have a video celebrating Fender, oddly enough, of which, Dave Gilmour is a collector of their's. Gibson should have featured video on it's history and inside the assembly. Of course, without Les Paul, famed inventor and visionary, who they doubted at first, where would they be now!??! Really!? haha

  • @Trendkiller67 I picked up an Epoch Gibson basic black, chrome pickups, not a bad looker, but it plays STIFF as anything, and even the action was not quite right. I am not keeping it, but test driving it! haha

  • It's truly a shame that Zakk got scared after P&G and BoS didn't sell as well as expected and decided he had to jump on the Pantera bandwagon with a tough guy pseudo biker band in order to stay relevant. Southern Rock is where it's at for him as a musician - it comes totally natural to him. Zakk has more ability than all those other guys with him COMBINED - safe for Charlie Daniels. Drop this stupid BLS act, Zakk, and get back to the real shit, please!

  • @SabuPtolemy He didn't get scared he just did what he does with Ozzy only more balls out, I felt that Hangover Music was not nearly as fantastic as P and G, Book of Shadows. I hope he can re-kindle the magic as well, he did say when he gets too old for the hard stuff, he'll embrace the acoustic again. These young kids, today, eh?

  • @MetallicBill What I meant by 'scared' is - abandoning the P&G/BoS concept in favor of BLS was mostly an economic decision. He knew it would be easier to sell a heavy biker band to the metal kids than trying to establish himself in the vein of a Neil Young or a Skynryd/Allman Bros. type act. Going back to Ozzy was also an economic decision (he did/does have several mouths to feed after all) after first saying leaving Ozzy was like graduating high school and there would be no going back.

  • @SabuPtolemy He toured acoustic and I saw that back when, awesome as always, but the BLS stuff is not near as good acoustically as the Pride material. Book of Shadows is exemplary because he can pull it off so well, but he wants to rock out hard and said he'll save much of the mellow for when he's older! haha

  • @MetallicBill It's not nearly as good because the P&G and BoS stuff is vastly superior to anything he's ever done with BLS. If you took the 10 best BLS songs you still wouldn't have as good an album as either P&G or BoS.

  • @SabuPtolemy lets be honest, its this type of voice that made p&g and bos, but do you think zakk has this voice anymore? i just dont think so, even on spoke in the wheel you can hear the slight change in his voice. i dont know if you know this but zakk had a tumor removed from his vocal chords a while back and thats why i think you will never hear p&g or bos style again. hang over music is as close as its gets. and believe me i would love another album like those.

  • @valerieash Well, Zakk's voice may have changed some as most if not all voices do over time. If we never hear another P&G/BoS type album from him it won't be because of his (lack of) voice but because he no longer seems capable of writing at that level if BLS is any indication (stylistic differences aside). 'Hangover Music' pales in comparison to BoS - not even in the same ballpark.

  • @SabuPtolemy I agree, I had very high hopes for it, but I don't think for a minute Zakk would forsake his love of the Allman Bros and SKynyrd to not do something musically similar

  • @valerieash I'm sure he does, he's basically gone too much into guitar where it doesn't breath and lacks melodic focus, I hate to be critical but we all can HEAR what he can do and somehow he's off the track

  • @SabuPtolemy I don't think he got scared, he just changed his playing style. Personally i love his heavy metal side just as much as his southern rock/ acoustic side. Zakk is just an all around fantastic musician. Period.

  • @iareawesome222 If he had throat tumor, it's news to me, even... could be it changed his voice, but I think his playing got overly flashy and lost memorable hooks in terms of melody. Sometimes Michael Schenker is the same actually

  • @MetallicBill Yep, Schenker is a good example. He hasn't made a great record since UFO - 'Walk On Water' in '95. He's still a great player but his songwriting has gone downhill. It's like he'd rather crank out a new album (or two) once a year than actually taking his time and crafting his songs. Zakk doesn't even have anything written when he goes in the studio - he just jams for hours w/ the drummer and then picks thru the ideas and pieces together songs on the fly. And it shows. Sadly.

  • @SabuPtolemy Watching MSG vids for a week past, and I can see with Robin McAuley and Schenker a very commercial approach with solos that don't draw THAT much attention to themselves, they also fit VERY well into a song's structure, and that is key, leaving you wanting more then too much of a good thing as can be the case, or it sticks out by not fitting to the song in general

  • @MetallicBill Schenker has always been the king of playing within the context of the song. He is a virtuoso but he never overplays and his phrasing is totally unique and second to none. Any guitar player worth his salt should be studying Schenker coz that dude is/was the absolute master. Even the McAuley Schenker stuff is very good for what it is - it's just that 99% of his fans prefer classic UFO and early MSG when he just f'n rocked!

  • @SabuPtolemy I wouldn't exactly agree because with McAuley he did some very pro guitar work, I relistened to the promo vids of the era, it takes me back! Schenker had some really poor days as well, people can blame the drink, but I'm not sure why. I know if you take a break, perhaps, you lose the ability to degrees. Zakk Wylde is afraid of stopping guitar playing for this very reason, he wants to keep his chops up! That's no easy task but the kids playing guitar on YT, simply amazing!!

  • @MetallicBill I honestly don't think Zakk is worried about losing his chops - however he should be very concerned about his songwriting chops. That's where's had deficiencies for a long time now. And, yes, there are some amazing kid guitar players on YouTube but most of them couldn't write a great song to save their lives and have no style of their own. People like Schenker and Zakk at their peak were the total package and are in a whole different league from these bedroom YT shredders.

  • @SabuPtolemy I'm reporting an interview where Zakk did say he was afraid of losing ability on guitar if he took a break from playing, but I think he has to do what he creatively wants to do, that's at the heart of every artist, but considering he showed everybody early on outside of BLS that he could make it on his own and eclipse many modern artists, I agree there, songwise or whatever style difference, I like both P and G as well as BOS. However, Zakk is a bit of a metalhead! haha

  • @MetallicBill by outside of BLS, I mean after leaving Ozzy's wing, but outside of the material with BLS, he recorded on his own and in that phase of his career ^

  • just perfect¡¡Zakk's voice sounded better in that years but i still love him¡

  • Cool, I had one of those eBay tapes of assorted Zakk performances, but I'd seen better online already, I'm thinking of uploading what I have of an interview portion

  • yea zakk n brett!

  • Maybe not a meeting of the Gods ,, but damn close, Zakk Wylde sounds great on vocals.

    Rebel Pride!

  • This is a meeting of the GODS

  • Yeah! haha, got the magazine article where Zakk got to meet Skynyrd, however, he was really an Allman Bro band fan before the Skynyrd, it's his brother I believe that got him to look into Lynyrd Skynyrd

  • what song is that???

  • Comin' Home

  • thanks dude awesome song !!

  • comin home by lynyrd skynyrd

  • Zakk just took them all to school.........

  • Thumbs down on that -> I don't mind, he's awesome here, and it's too short, that's the long and SHORT of it

  • Wow...Zakk back in his Pride & Glory days.

  • notice how much bret michaels and zakk look alike in this? compare them nowadays, Zakk is a viking, and michaels is a fat ugly-ass faggot

  • man i hope zakk gets back to doing this type of music, it comes so natural to him. the bls stuff is not what his voice was made for.

  • I agree. I love BLS just as much as P&G, but I don't think Zakk can sing too much of anything anymore. Shame.

  • Have you EVER seen a bigger fag face than one Brett Michaels makes at 2:24 till the take the camera off of him? Looks like he's about to throat Peter North lol. What a douchebag. Why did they have his no talent ass on this thing??

  • I don't care for the endless Bret bashing, be kind, rewind. As I mentioned, I'm no fan, but I still like the odd song

  • Amen dude, he is like a turd in a punchbowl in this video. But everyone else was awesome

    thanks for the vid

  • Gorgeous.

  • I believe you mean Cleft Chin, I have that as well, I prefer Zakk clean shaven, like the film Rock Star, he seemed a lot younger

  • haha! probably. in denmark we call it "røv hage" wich directly means ass chin. :P

    rockstar is my favourite movie.

    cheers!

  • the name of the song is comin home its skynrd

  • Stated I believe, already

  • the name of this song it's juste space cowboys hahahahahahahaaaaaa im gone a rocking with you where is my MACHIN GUN MY BLACK BEAUTY ......YEAH MAN TCHEK THIS......HEEEEY JOE WHERE YOU GONNE WITH THAT GUN IN YOUR HAND GOOD LUCK

  • That's way off in left field there, bub! I will say Steve Miller's Space Cowboys is an excellent song, as well as Hey Joe!

  • He has a great voice and rips the guitar like a mother fucker. What a talent. Live long and healthy Zakk.

  • Zakk says as he does get older, hes gonna get into acoustical tours and shit...TOTALLY awesome........ SDMF

    Big Al, Okc Chapter bitches

  • thats fucking cool:D when did he say that?

  • Sebajas....I saw it in an interview with him...prolly like a year or so ago...maybe less...

    Big Al, Okc chapter bitches

  • Been in print as well. Acoustic Guitar magazine (IIRC)

  • Acoustic Guitar magazine, I picked up the issue, not handy at present. He figured he'd go back to the Book of Shadows and Hangover Music, when asked about the inspiration for those records

  • lol brett michaels is like dam he can sing

  • wow i was thinking the same, zakk sings his ass off and bret sounds like shit when he TRYS 2 sing his song AWEFUL, HORRIBLE, SUCKS BALLS BRET DOES. keep kickin ass zakk fuckin wylde!!!!

  • Hey, Looks like he agrees with me, I like Poison to a minor degree... They really aren't horrible, if they were, I wouldn't bother listening to their stuff. Still, initially was a surprise who Skynyrd's Frynds were on this PPV

  • COWBOYS

  • From Heaven? haha

  • SKYNYRDDDDDDDD!!! LYNYRD SKYNYRD... Skynards is f*ck -.-'

"Comin' Home" the name of the song

  • The song is Skynards "Comin' Home"

  • I thought we cleared that up before?? haha I wasn't sure initially not having all their albums, but still "smart" enough to record this event!

  • What's the name of that song :D ?!

  • who is the third one that was introduced?

  • New Jersey discovery Tom Keifer from 80s band Cinderella. The very known Jon BonJovi discovered the band and got them signed

  • Damn! Zakk dose one hell of an ass kickin job on these vocals

  • Yeah, he figures in his old age, he'll be settling down with more acoustic jams

  • Holy Shit! A lot of rockers.

  • This is exactly what music should be! Jam out with no boundaries but for respect for where it all comes from.

  • totally agree!

  • no better way to make a debut, great post metallic, i've had this on tape for a while and always wanted to see it up on youtube.

  • I notice that Zakk has another DVD out, it's a CD/DVD where only the CD covers the old Pride and Glory Book of Shadows. Zakk commented he'll be doing more acoustic Southern stuff as he gets older and backs off the heavy metallic edge. I just think he should keep it balanced more

  • theres a P&G Book Of shadows type Cd in works now for charity i cant wait

  • that sounds cool!

  • Just so everyone knows, this song is called "Comin' Home" and it's off of Lynyrd Skynyrd "First and... Last"

  • Wath is the music? Excuse for the idiot question...

  • Fucking vocal Zakk!

  • Zakk jokes Ozzy would kick his ass for singing country influences, so this was his chance to let loose!

  • Marvellous !!!

  • concrete jungle at 1:56

  • man, this is epic. i was see this video long time ago...thx for post. i fuckin love skynyrd's and zakk wylde works, zakk and skynyrd together are perfect

for who dnt knw the name of song that zakk sings, that song is coming home, from lynyrd skynyrd from the album "Skynyrd's First and Last" of 1978

  • Whats the name of this song? Does Zakk play more on this concert or is this it?

  • Think I mentioned that in my comments, nope. Coming Home I believe is the title, I lack the original track

  • man I never thought I'd see the day where I could watch this ... I've had a CD bootleg of this show since like 93 or 94

thank you so very much for posting this !!!

  • Always a pleasure for comments like that! I felt the need to record the event, and it was worth the money!!

  • Brett Michaels Sucks! HE really sucked during his performance..

  • I don't share that opinion, let it be said. I like some of Poison's recorded work, but I am not a fan of them. I don't think anyone dragged down the show this night

  • dude, I have this on VHS, from back in the day.

Please put on when Travis & Dale do "Don't Misunderstand Me"

    I LOVE THIS WHOLE SHOW!!!!

  • It's already up under Rossington Collins!

  • man, zakks played with everyone.

  • Oh wow. Zakk had an amazing voice! Much better than nowadays.

  • I just watched him in the film Rockstar... It's painful, I know, but amusing too

  • can you tell me where to get the movie?

  • Rockstar with Mark Wahlberg, easy to find that, impossible to find Skynyrd and Frynds... It was NEVER released that's why I uploaded it here!

  • This was a pay per view special from around '92

  • More like 1993, I had cable during the period and recorded Woodstock 94 as well as Pink Floyd with their Dark Side live performance, It came out as the famous PULSE CD later, after that broadcast. This one never did.

  • amazing

  • I got the last half of the acoustic opening set uploaded, Peter Frampton. This is excellent, as well. I redid the capture and included Charlie Daniels who follows.

  • what a pleasure watching this video!!

    It's great

  • Enjoy the rest of the PPV, more clips 4th coming!

  • got goosebumbs watching this

  • It is great stuff! I wasn't a big Skynyrd fan when I saw this PPV listed and opted to buy it...no regrets!!

  • I redid this because the tape I captured from was re-wound. Many new clips coming, the extended opening will go up along side this then I will delete it.

  • Constructive comments only, we want a good vibe here, folks!
